Unknown gunmen abducted a man from Akokwa Town, Ideato-North Local Government Area in Imo state, and set his car on fire.

It happened at Ohaegiri Junction, just after 12:54 on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the suspect kidnappers pulled the man from his Lexus 350 and set it ablaze.

The driver was forced to get into their getaway car and they drove off, shooting continuously in the air.

“They shot severally at the vehicle and it caught fire. They dragged the driver out of the vehicle and drove away and continuously shooting in the air. Everybody in the junction closed shops and ran away back to their homes for safety." the witness explained.

A video which has gone viral showed the attacked car burning by the roadside while motorcycle operators moved freely as if nothing happened in the area.
