Olusegun Oluwole, a 46-year-old male, was apprehended by Ogun State Police Command officers for allegedly having forcefully obtained carnal knowledge of his 17-year-old daughter (name withheld).

The suspect was arrested following a complaint lodged at Ibara police station by the victim, who came in the company of some so safe corps men and reported that while she was sleeping in their one-room apartment in the Amolaso area of Abeokuta at about 11:30 pm, her father having observed that others are fast asleep suddenly grabbed her and forcefully had s*x with her with a threat to kill her if she refused to allow him.

CSP Bernard Egbondiya (DPO Ibara Division), quickly reported the incident to his detectives. The suspect was immediately arrested.

The father of six confessed to the crime and pleaded for forgiveness. He claimed not to have any idea what had happened to him at the time he committed it.

CP Lanre Bankole, Commissioner of Police, has ordered that the suspect be transferred to the state Criminal investigation Departments to continue investigation and possibly prosecution. The victim was then taken to a general medical facility for treatment.
