Commuters, as well as motorists, are stuck in a gridlock on Ikorodu Lagos Road, inward mile 12, Friday morning.

Itowolo-to-Ajegunle was the most affected by heavy traffic, with both sides of roads blocked.

Our correspondent noticed that yellow buses, also known as Danfo, were facing oncoming traffic, complicating traffic congestion.

Commuters were seen taking to their feet and trekking to their destinations, while some of them, who spoke to our correspondent, said they would rather trek to wherever the traffic was lighter before boarding another vehicle to continue their journey than remain in the gridlock.

Officers of the Nigeria Police Force were, however, seen making frantic efforts to clear the traffic around Ajegunle.

The cause of the traffic could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.
