Akin Osuntokun the former aide to former President Olusegun Obasanjo and has now defected to the Labour Party from the Peoples Democratic Party.

According to Obidient TV's announcement, he is now the South West leader. This announcement was widely shared via social media.

Osuntokun was described in the statement as a researcher and political scientist with extensive experience in policy advocacy and research.

Osuntokun is from Ekiti State and was previously the managing director of the News Agency of Nigeria.

According to political analysts, he lacks any real-world experience in politics.

He first made his link to Labour Party known on Sunday, when he appeared on a Channels TV programme, Sunday Politics.
