An Ikeja Chief Magistrates Court has placed ThankGod Umana (39-year-old factory worker) in Kirikiri Custodial Centre after she was accused of allegedly defiling a girl, 15 years old.

ASP Raji Akeem, the prosecutor, told the court that the defendant, who resides at 8 Egunjobi Street in Iyana Ipaja (Lago State), committed the offense on April 2022 at his residence.

The mother of the victim found out about the alleged crime when she observed that her daughter was keeping to herself.

Akeem said;

“After much probing, the minor told her mother that the defendant had been sexually molesting her.

“The case was reported at a police station and the defendant was arrested.”

Chief Magistrate, B. O. Osunsanmi who presided over the case on Tuesday, August 2, ordered that the suspect be remanded pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.

The chief magistrate adjourned the case till August 25 for mention.
