The Chairman of Tangaza Local Government & six of his councilors and a Chieftain in the People Democratic Party (PDP), Colonel Garba Myi (rtd), have dumped the opposition party for the All Progressives Congress.

Moyi, who was recently re-appointed to the post by Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal following the reconstitution of his cabinet, previously served as Commissioner for Security and Carriers. He then quit running for the ticket of PDP in Sokoto East Senatorial Zone.


Daily Trust reported that the former commissioner was received at Wamakko by Engineer Idris, the deputy governorship candidate for APC, and Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, the leader of APC Sokoto.

Defections by councillors were identified as Zakariya Madugu (Abubakar Abubakar Kalanjine), Abubakar Aliyu and Halilu Aliyu. Ibrahim Sarkin Tudu, Musa Sulaiman Sakkwai.
