On Monday, July 25, a boat accident resulted in the deaths of three civilians and a police officer patrolling around the Korokorosei waters in Bayelsa State’s Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.

ASP Asinim Butswat was the spokesperson for the Bayelsa state police force. He confirmed the incident to newsmen and said that the body of the Police officer had been found, but the bodies of three civilians are still to be discovered.

“One Policeman’s body was recovered while three are missing. The command is yet to establish the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident. Divers have been deployed to the Area for possible rescue of the missing persons.”
