Hon. Ishaya Bakano The Deputy Leader of Song Local Government Legislative Council in Adamawa state was found dead in his home at the crack of dawn on Saturday, July 23rd.

DSP Suleiman Nguroje (spokesman for the state police command) confirmed this development. He said that police received a report today at around 1 a.m. that Bannga's home of the politician, 60, had been infiltrated by unknown gunmen who fired sporadically.

Nguroje said that police arrived to find the politician in a pool of his blood. He was taken to the hospital, where he was declared dead.

He stated that the police are currently looking for the gunmen.
