Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, the former Director for Personnel Management (DPM), in Kontagora Local Government Area in Niger State, has been kidnapped by bandits.

Musa Mohammed, a veterinary physician with the Department of Veterinary Medicine in the same LG was also taken by the bandits.

Daily Trust reports that the former DPM was abducted Friday from his farm on Kontagora Mariga Road with some of his laborers. Meanwhile, the veterinary doctor was reported to have been kidnapped Thursday morning as he returned to Kontagora after visiting the villages nearby to administer vaccinations.

Later, the bandits called to inform the family they were in Katsina State. They demanded N15 million ransom.

A source claimed that the kidnapping of the veterinarian doctor occurred while he was returning to Kontagora after he went to some villages to give vaccinations.

He expressed regret that kidnappings have become a regular occurrence on Kontagora Mariga and Kontagora To Rijau roads. He called on the government for decisive action to stem the tide.
