Alhaji Garba Marafa (Emir of Yandoto, Zamfara State), has given the title Sarki Fulani Yandoto, to a well-known bandit kingpin, Adamu Alero.

According to Nigerian Tribune, the ceremony of turbaning was performed on Saturday, July 16, 2022.

Alero was born at Yankuzo Village under Tsafe Local Government Area but grew up in the main city.

The terrorist group that attacks communities in Tsafe (in Zamfara), Gusau (in Zamfara), Faskari, Kankara, and Katsina State is led by the 45-year-old.

The decision to give the title to the banditry kingpin was based on his pivotal role in a recent peace process between the emirate of Tsafe Local Government Area and the bandits terrorizing Tsafe Local Government Area.

According to a source who requested anonymity, "Aleru was at the forefront of recent peace efforts within the two emirates Yandoto & Tsafe."

Sunday Tribune source revealed that elders and stakeholders met recently with the bandit leader to make a peace agreement.

"Aleru (he) agreed at the end to cease attacking villages and communities in the emirate. Sources say that he has also accepted to let people farm."
