An Ota Magistrates Court in Ogun State sentenced Mohammed Abubakar, a 23-year-old man, to three months imprisonment for biting off another man's pinky finger.

Abubakar was charged by the state police with assault. He had pleaded guilty.

A Magistrate A O. Adeyemi delivered a ruling and sentenced Abubakar with no option for a fine.

Adeyemi argued that the Prosecution Counsel had proved beyond reasonable doubts that Adeyemi was guilty of the charges against him.

Insp E.O.Adaraloye, the prosecution counsel, told the court earlier that the convict had committed the offense at Oja Ijoko Ota on February 7. He stated that Adamu Abdullahi, the complainant's right pinky finger was bitten off by the convict.

He stated that the offense was against the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun 2006. Section 355 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun 2006.
