Muslim-Muslim ticket: Real reason Tinubu picked Shettima as running mate by ayodeji11(m) : 3:50 pm On Jul 11, 2022 |
Bola Tinubu (the All Progressives Congress, APC) presidential candidate announced his running mate Kashim Shettima. Tinubu revealed Shettima following his meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at Daura, Katsina State. After Kabiru Masari, his placeholder had resigned from the role, his decision was made. Tinubu had submitted Masari's name by the deadline for running mates' submission, and INEC was notified. Tinubu convinced Nigerians that Masari was his running-mate at one point. He made this public yesterday. Nigerians were not happy with the APC's decision to go for a Muslim-Muslim ticket. Deji Adeyanju a socio-political commentator pointed out why Tinubu chose a Muslim-Muslim ticket to counter the agitation of many Nigerians. Adeyanju said that Tinubu chose a Muslim-Muslim ticket because of the lack of quality opposition from Nigeria. Adeyanju described Nigeria's opposition as divided and useless in a series of tweets. Adeyanju says, "They can dare such brazen moves of Muslim-Muslim tickets because they know that the opposition is ineffective and divided." They will prevail if the opposition ignores my wise counsel. Tinubu and APC say they don't care a damn. The message from the Muslim-Muslim ticket has become too loud. They are actually having a great time and will have a harder time in February with a divided opposition." |
