Ameerah Saffiyanu, also known as Ameerah Sufyan, was granted bail by the Magistrate Court at Wuse, Abuja.

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command charged the Twitter user with a false kidnap alarm.

Ameerah was detained on June 17, after days of searching amid Nigerian condemnation of the government security agencies for worsening insecurity.

According to the citizen, she was kidnapped along with 16 other Abuja residents at gunpoint and taken into a forest.

On June 14, Ameerah alleged that the victims, including three pregnant women and two children, were abducted by men in police uniforms.

The court granted bail to the defendant Wednesday for mental health concerns.

Angry reactions are trailing verdict, with a tweep saying Ameerah could get away with murder.
