A middle-aged man, Aliyu Hammanseyo, of Mubi North Local Government Area, Adamawa State has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly stabbing his friend, Bilham Babangida, to death over N1, 500.

After the defendant was arraigned in Yola on Monday, June 20, for the alleged offense that contravened section 191 of Penal Code law, the Chief Magistrate Court I sitting at Yola ordered the defendant to be remanded.

Aliyu, Sabon Layi Area in Mubi Nord LGA, confessed to stabbing the deceased with the knife on his chest. He was killed on June 7.

According to the defendant, the deceased owed him the money. The deceased discovered that Aliyu had money and demanded a full refund of his N1,500. Eyewitnesses claim Aliyu refused the money refund despite multiple pleas from the deceased. The victim who was in possession of a knife forcefully put his hands in the defendant's pocket in order to take out his money. Aliyu was said to have dispossessed Bilham of his knife and he eventually used it against him by stabbing him in the chest to death as confirmed by the Medical Doctor at the Mubi General Hospital.
