Janet Agbede (Abia State Commissioner for Police), paraded yesterday, June 20, two suspected murderers as well as child traffickers.

The suspects identified as Chimaobi Kalu, 25, and David Ogwo Orji, 21, were alleged to have murdered Chimhurumnaya Udeh, 21, before selling her 11-month-old baby.

Agbede said that the suspects tricked the victim, who hails Edda in Ebonyi state into a Merry Home hotel in Aba. They then killed and stole the baby, which they later sold.

The CP reported that Mr Felix Abengowe was the owner of the hotel. He had reported to police that a unidentified female corpse, with a severe cut to her neck, was found in his room on April 16.

She stated that police detectives quickly acted and the suspects were detained by them on May 16, 2022.

She stated that it was found out that the suspects were motorcyclists hailing from Ugwueke, Bende Local Government Area in Abia State.

"Chimaobi Anyim Kalu lives at No 44 Nwogu Street, while David Ogwo Orji resides at Umunkama Roundabout in the Ngwa Road area of Aba.

"Efforts continue to be made to arrest one of these fleeing suspects, and recover the Chimeremobi silver that was purportedly sold off by the suspects."

Agbede stated that the suspects had confessed to the crime and added that one Chukwuemeka, currently at large, had requested them to murder the victim and kidnap her child.

She claimed that they had drugged the victim with Yoghurt, Piriton tablets and then stabbed her in the neck with a broken cup.

On James's instructions, the suspects admitted to having given the child stolen to a woman child trafficker.

James gave N150, 000 to the suspects, which they split equally.
