Peoples Democratic Party of Osun State claims that All Progressives Congress is destroying billboards belonging to its candidate in the state's governorship election holding in July, Senator Ademola Adeleke, across the state.

Dr. Akindele Adekunle, Osun PDP Caretaker Committee made the allegation Thursday 9 June 2009. He claimed that Adeleke's billboards were destroyed in Osogbo as well as other parts of the state. This was part of a plot to create a political crisis.

The opposition party appealed to the security agencies to assume their primary responsibility and ensure that political thugs are put in check.

The statement was as follows:

"Let us, for the purpose of emphasis, warn those behind this plot that they will be matched, not necessarily by an equal measure of violence but by whatever it takes legally to resist such attempt as to intimidate the good people of Osun State or coerce them into submission.

"This will be a sign that we won't hesitate to mobilize Osun people in opposition to the violence being promoted by All Progressives Congress.

"It is on that note that we urge the entire world to hold APC accountable for any breakdown in law and order Osun. We will not continue to watch the destruction of our candidate’s billboards or any attack on our campaign materials pass without any response."
