Actress DidiEkanem who is also the founder of Odot Fashion brand has lamented on the consequences of adulthood.

The serial entrepreneur via her Instagram page revealed that her degree certificate is still resting in her father’s cupboard while she’s struggling out there to make a living outside her area or studies.

Ekanem also beckoned on all Nigerians to go get their PVC and jointly vote out the bad eggs in the government.

She wrote: My day started at 4am… 7 different types of foods in litres. True true adulthood na scam in Nigeria. Only you will go through university for 4 years, 1 year Youth service and come out and become what you become. My degree is somewhere in my father’s cupboard & I remember when I applied for a bank job in 2016. Every bank wanted me to be a marketer … like say they wan sell me. As I no gree, no job for me. That was when I took matters into my own hands, enrolled in a fashion school and became a fashion designer /business woman.

To live in a country like Nigeria especially in Lagos, one source of income is never enough..So I decided to monetise another of my passion which is cooking and started @dailymeals_odot. To cut the story short… Get your PVC so that we can work less and live well in this country. I’m just saying o. I don’t know if this is even possible in this country but, let’s try!”

Didi Ekanem has earlier advised every young lady out there to become financially stable before marriage.

She said this was necessary for them to be able to shoulder responsibilities that come with marriage.

DidiEkanem urged single ladies to never to consider marriage as ticket to financial freedom.

The actress who is still single also said that she has lost counts of number of married women that come to her for financial favours.

Taking to her Instagram page, Ekanem wrote: “As a young woman with no husband and children, this is the time to set yourself up financially. You have all the energy now to make your own money before these responsibilities.

“Marriage is not a ticket to financial freedom. I know how many married women beg me for money daily.

“Start up a business even if na to sell okro and crayfish, sell it and sell it big. No business wey no dey yield profit.

“Some marriages come with combined efforts financially….So prepare not to lack on your own part. May God equip you with all the strength and wisdom to run that business you have been planning since.”

Continuing, she said: “I am talking to all the young women who look up to me…. I hope you see that I am not going through short cuts or easy way out… my beauty can get me anything I want but I want more than what my beauty can get me.

“Please, don’t let anyone tell you that hard work doesn’t pay o…. because it does eventually. Get up and do the right thing now! I love you.”
