Bishop Daniels, a married church founder, has been accused of rape of his assistant pastor at his Lekki, Lagos house.

Punch claims that Daniels, a married father of children, raped the pastor, 22, on two separate occasions.

The Bishop summoned the female assistant pastor who was based outside Lagos to meet him at the Lagos headquarters.

Because the meeting was scheduled to clash with her brother’s wedding, she didn’t attend.

He summoned her back to headquarters to punish her, but she claimed that he actually raped her twice.

She said to the publication that "He wanted me attend a meeting, and the date conflicted with my brothers' wedding. As punishment, he made me not attend the meeting. He also ordered members of my church to stop celebrating my birthday.

"So, I went to his Lekki house for the punishment. When I arrived, he told me to strip naked because he wanted beat me. He was home alone. He noticed that I was shocked by his statement and began to make me feel guilty.

He said that his spiritual father had tested him in many areas, and after hours of contemplation, he became mad at me for disobeying him. As I approached him, I took off my clothes, and closed my eyes. I was told to not close my eyes and to kneel while he sat down on a chair.

"He saw my nakedness, and said that he wanted me to prove his loyalty. He was not going to have s*x with anyone. He asked me to put on my clothes and, after I had worn them, he instructed me to take them off once more. Later, he told me to leave his house and not tell anyone. But, after I left, I told some senior members of my church.

According to the victim, she went home and Daniels called her after some time to inform her that he was investigating another incident.

She replied, "So, while at my house, he told I he would punish and sentence me for an offense and asked me to transcribe his teachings. I was left alone at the house by Bishop Daniels because the pastor of the Ibadan branch and his wife, whom I had met at his residence on the previous day, left the next day.



"So, he tried to kiss me while I was in the sitting area with him. I stopped him and he then slapped my face. He became angry and stated that he had never told me to get naked before. He left, and I went to bed.

"The next day, while we were listening to a sermon by a pastor, he told me that I should get naked again. Surprisingly, he went naked again and raped my for 30 minutes, until I began to bleed from the tears.

"I was stunned when the incident occurred at 10 p.m. He instructed me to go into the room and clean up my mess. Before I came back, he had already cleaned up the blood from the floor. He advised me not to tell anyone but I did tell a pastor at my church.

According to the victim, Daniels refused to let her leave his home and tried to rape her the next night. She said that she was tired.

She continued, "In the morning I greeted he, but he did not answer. He said that I should be honored that he did that to me later. He took my clothes off and raped again. I still bled the second. It was very traumatizing for me.

He told me to use the bathroom and cleaned my blood before I got out. I grabbed my phone and informed the pastor of my church branch. He also informed another member of the branch. They decided to go to the pastor's home.

"Bishop Daniels began to beg me and said that he didn't know what had happened over him. I tried to go with the church member to tell the story but he stopped me from leaving his house. Later, I left his house, but I felt suicidal as I thought about it.

"I stopped going the church, and my branch was closed. In 2020, I reported the incident at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (Alagbon). One inspector Samuel, the investigating officer in charge of the investigation, said that I should bring N70,000 to arrest him.

"I didn't have the money so I had to stop going to that station. Bishop Daniels began sending me people to beg, but I moved on. Two other victims reached me recently to inform me that Bishop Daniels had tried to have sex. I was able to find someone to sponsor my case.

He was taken into custody last week after I reopened the case at the FCID Alagbon last month. He is not being charged with the crime.

Punch claims that Punch heard the bishop telling Punch in an audio recording that the victim had provided that they should sin together.

Another audio shows the victim crying and challenging the bishop for saying she wants s*x with him.

Niyi Ogundeyi spoke on behalf of the FCID and said that Daniels was taken into custody after the victim complained. He was held for six days.

He said, "After that, he was freed because he is entitled to bail and the police do not have the right to keep him indefinitely."

"Meanwhile investigation is ongoing. An appointment has been made for all parties to visit command on Thursday.

"The accusation against him is that they sexually harassed her, and other witnesses corroborated the evidence presented by the complainant." The investigation is ongoing."
