In connection with the murder of Ahmad Usman (a member of a vigilante organization) in the Lugbe Area, FCT, on June 4, 2022, fifteen suspects were arrested.

Federal Capital Territory Police Command stated in a statement that the arrests of the suspects were made following an investigation into the murder of the 30-year-old.

One of the people arrested was the Islamic cleric, who allegedly incited the mob to kill the security guard because of blasphemy against Prophet Mohammed at Tipper Garage, Lugbe (Abuja).

CP Babaji Sunday, Commissioner of Police FCT Command, vowed that the command will be brought to justice and directed that Malam Lawan, as well as others involved in the extra-judicial mob activity, be transferred to Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Federal Capital Territory Police Command.
