It all started when Reno made a post advising men that they won't get any spiritual benefit from paying their inlaw's bills, he promised to pay a certain amount of money to anyone who can find it in the scripture. He also stated that if a woman is industrious, she can support her parents, it isn't a man's duty to do so.

One of Reno's followers commented on his post, he stated that men should assist their inlaws where and when necessary.

Reno replied to his follower, he stated that later people like him will complain about generational causes causing poverty in their lives. He further revealed that there is nothing like a generational cause, rather there are generational bad habits. He further stated that the mentality of a man helping his inlaws financially is a generational bad habit.
