The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Muhammed has said that radio remains one of the most trusted and accessible media in the world despite the widespread of news by social media and other means of communication because of its connection to the grassroot.

The Minister who said this in a press release to mark this year's World Radio Day tagged, "Radio and Trust" noted that the Federal Government will always pursue the right policies and support that will provide an enabling environment for radio operation in the country.

Speaking further, the Minister said that the Federal Government is urging radio stations in the country to uphold the trust of their listeners by shunning the spread of fake news.

As you may know, World Radio Day is celebrated every 13th of February. The theme for this year is, "Radio and Trust".
