Nigerian rap musician, Oludemilade Martin Alejo, popularly known by his stage name, Ycee has recounted his struggles as a star.

The ‘Jagban’ crooner who recently celebrated his 29th birthday took to his Instagram page to share a picture collage of himself when he was 22 and a picture of the present.

Ycee wrote: “Both pictures are 7 years apart and all I can say is, through the highs and lows, the ups and downs… I wouldn’t really change much because every single experience that scarred my existence I turned around and slapped a tattoo over that motherfuckin scar (figuratively).A very big thank you to everyone that made my 29TH birthday the best one yet”.

News recalls that back in 2017, Ycee warned Efe, winner of the Big Brother Naija reality TV show in 2017 not to put all his eggs in one basket.

The talented rapper said music is not a venture that yields return fast, thus Efe should not invest all the N25 million he won on the #BBNaija show into music.

He gained popularity after his single “Condo”, which features vocals by Patoranking, earned him two nominations at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. He was also nominated for Best Artist in African Pop at the 2015 All Africa Music Awards
