Why Hushpuppi Might Not Have Heavily Influenced Youths Into Fraud And Rituals by sundaysamuel381(m) : 5:00 pm On Jan 28, 2022 |
The Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Media, Ossai Ovie Success recently accused the embattled Instagram celebrity Ramon Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi, of heavily influencing Nigerian youths into fraud and rituals through his luxurious lifestyle. According to Daily Post, Ossai stated that he was tempted to visit Hushpuppi when he visited Dubai some years ago because he was so popular in Dubai as at that time and it seemed like if you don’t visit him, you are not enjoying Dubai and you are not among the big boys. Though I agree with the fact that many Nigerians who visited Dubai when Hushpuppi wasn't arrested spent time with him, however, I don't think he heavily influenced Nigerian youths into fraud and rituals. Before Hushpuppi was arrested in 2020, he paraded himself as a real estate developer and also claimed to be a promoter of brands, and he made people believe that his wealth came from the real estate business and brands promotion. Hushpuppi wasn't the only one who showcased his wealth on Instagram, it's what many celebrities do to keep their names on people's lips, so Hushpuppi couldn't have been the one who heavily influenced Nigerian youths into fraud and rituals. Its been over a year since his arrest, yet many youths are still into fraudulent activities and rituals, if his luxurious lifestyle influenced many youths negatively as Mr Ossai Ovie claims, then his arrest and public disgrace would have also discouraged them, but we can see that ritual killing and fraudulent activities are still high in the country. source : opera news |
