How can you leave Borno, Yobe, Kaduna, Zamfara and Niger and declare emergency by atoluwash(m) : 11:16 am On Oct 07, 2021 |
Nigerian human right activist and lawyer Reno Omokri has reacted to threats made by the Federal government to declare a state of emergency in Anambra state following the worsening state of security in the state. Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, on Wednesday, October 6 announced the Federal government may declare a state of emergency in Anambra ahead of the November 6 governorship election. Reacting via his Instagram page, Reno wrote ''Abubakar Malami’s threat to declare a state of emergency in Anambra may very well be the spark that ignites what he can’t put out. How can you leave Borno, Yobe, Kaduna, Zamfara and Niger (where Boko Haram controls 500 communities) and declare emergency in Anambra? This is what happens when the government is so imbalanced that there is not a single Igbo in the National Security Council. Meaning there is nobody to defend their interests from people who see Igbos as a mere dot in a circle.
