Five accused kidnappers have met their end after
being apprehended and burned to death by
enraged adolescents.

The event occurred over the weekend on the
Afuze-Uokha route in Edo State's Owan West
Local Government Area.
According to reports, the alleged kidnappers
ambushed and seized some travelers and took
them into the woods, equipped with various
weaponry.

However, when the local vigilante group learned of
the kidnapping, they mobilized and tracked down
the suspects in the jungle, according to reports.
Locals were alleged to have seized the suspects
from the vigilantes as they were being escorted to
the police station and set them on fire, outraged
by the recent wave of kidnappings in the
neighborhood.
"If it hadn't been for the vigilantes' bravery, the
kidnappers would have contacted the abducted
travelers relatives to demand a ransom, while
residents fired up with the kidnappers' illegal
actions lit them on fire and left them to die, " a
SOurce told Newsmen.

The Edo State Police Command's spokesperson,
Kontongs Bello, confirmed the event to the
NaijaCover News Crew and said that an
investigation was underway.

"After the kidnapping, the vigilantes were on the
lookout for the perpetrators, who they discovered
hidden in the bush. As they exited Uokha
Community on their route to the police station,
enraged teenagers in Uokha and nearby
communities grabbed the alleged kidnappers
from the vigilantes. The suspects were burned to
death, thus all attempts to catch them were
worthless. "The investigation is still ongoing, " he
continued.
In a separate incident, an enraged mob in lyana
Ipaja, Agege, Lagos State, set fire to a guy and the
car he was riding in with two other men over
claims of kidnapping three persons.

According to witnesses, one of the men died on
his way to the police station, while another fled
with injuries.
According to witnesses, the accused kidnappers'
fate was sealed when a biker raised the alarm that
three people were in the car' s boot.
The mob discovered a woman and her two
children bound together by ropes when the boot
was opened. They observed that one of the
children had died of asphyxia and the other was
gasping for air.
