Can One Truly Work From Home And Earn More Than $1000 Per Month From Nigeria?




Caveat: If you're a jobless Nigerian or a Nigerian who wants to change his financial situation, this article is for you.

With many more employees getting sacked every day in the country, due to the economic meltdown and the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, discussions about whether earning as much as $1000 from American companies as a jobless Nigerian has been trending online.

So I decided to conduct a research online and give an unbiased report on the possibility or impossibility of that happening.

After thoroughly searching the net for valuable information regarding that topic, I've come to a conclusion.

And here's my discovery: it is possible to make more than $1000 from home as a jobless Nigerian. Because during my research, I found quite a good number of Nigerians who are already into this business and are making more than a $1000 per month.

A good example is Andy Mukolo, a Nigerian Copywriter who makes more than a million naira per month in this business, and has trained more Nigerians who are also raking in dollars.

Emmanuel Akpe is another reputable Copywriter who makes more than a million every month.

I will explain further, stay with me.

The first thing we must understand is that we are in a digital age, which means the old way of doing business some decades ago has changed dramatically.

If you are still not aware, you must know that money has changed hands. 20 years ago, the majority of transactions held in public places.

From banks, multinationals, industries, market places, startups, religious and academic institutions, the only place you could exchange products or services for money was in the outside world, with some form of building structures about them.

Fast forward to 2020, and former ways of transacting business has changed absolutely.

With the advent and global impact of the Covid-19, the entire world is now forced to stay at home and see out the onslaught.

Online marketing involves the use of the internet to promote, publicise and advertise products to clients and potential customers.

Brands like Zoom, Amazon, WhatsApp, Facebook are some of the top businesses profiting from the upsurge in online activities. Small startups have also begun to innovate ideas to keep their businesses afloat.

Now, if all major businesses are transacted online, that means a jobless Nigerian, provided he has the basic tools (like a Smartphone, Computer and internet) can contact an American company online and propose to do a job for the company.

So, what particular job can a jobless Nigerian do that will earn him as much as $1000 per month?

COPYWRITING

What is Copywriting?

According to Wikipedia, Copywriting is the act of writing a text for the purpose of advertising or other forms of marketing.

In other words, Copywriting is writing in a way that persuades a person or an audience to make a particular decision.

But the question is, what makes a company pay as much as $1000 for a Nigerian to write a copy aka sales letter?

1. Each company's growth is dependent on the ability to convince people to buy their products or services. And the fastest way to do this is by writing copies.

2. American companies know the value of building relationships with customers to enable constant engagement and repeat purchases. And one way they do this is by writing emails, brochures, magazine and newspaper advertisements, sales letters, social media posts.

3. Because most companies don't have an in-house Copywriter, or the work becomes too much for the few Copywriters they have, they need to outsource jobs to freelancers. And this is where Nigerians make their money because Freelance Copywriters are mostly found online.

4. Unlike Nigerian companies who don't value Copywriters and pay as low as N2000 for a 1000-word article, American companies appreciate the value of Copywriting and pay as much as possible to the Copywriter that gets them a result.

5. Finally, American companies don't discriminate when it comes to business, if you do the job satisfactorily, you get good pay.

And the good thing for any Nigeria who wants to start Copywriting is, you don't have to be a scholar in English to begin.

In fact, most companies don't look for spectacular English writers, because they've noticed that converting customers is not about how brilliant the English is, but how the Copywriter is able to relate with them in a friendly, emotional and conversational style.

It doesn't matter if you graduated with Computer Science, Geology or Yoruba studies, as long as you have the basic knowledge of English, you can start writing copies too.

Why should a jobless Nigerian, or any Nigerian for that matter, consider becoming a Copywriter?
