Oyo state administration revises the recommencement of schools in the state; Teachers continue on the 29th of June while pupils on the 6th of July.

Impeding any last-minute alteration, the Oyo State Government has revised the recommencement of academies in the state that was earlier planned for the 29th of June.

The Government had before authorized all final classes comprising Primary 6, JSS3, and SSS3 to commence on June 29 ahead of practices for their several exams.

However, an announcement published today by Mr. Taiwo Adisa, the Chief Press Secretary to Seyi Makinde, announced that teachers will return to school on Monday, 29th of June while their students in final classes will return on the 6th of July.

Adisa announced that the state government would on the 15th of July evaluate the obedience level in the various schools to discern whether the other classes would return or wait till September.

“By the new agreement, Teachers are to return to schools on Monday 29th of June, 2020, and students in crucial classes comprising Primary 6, JSS3, and SS3 will continue one week later on the 6th of July, 2020.

372 Heads of Schools have been educated on Monday, 22nd of June, by the EOC on the administration of the COVID-19 policy protocols, while each of these schools is to elect an event Manager, who will ensure compliance with the approved COVID-19 protocol.

Every student is required to use face masks, and the schools are to assemble well-arranged handwashing areas to safeguard the usual washing of hands by all students and teachers.

The Task Force has also decided that by 15th of July, the government of the state would have examined the condition with the schools and reach a decision, whether the rest of the classes would be prepared to resume, or maybe the students will have to wait to return for the new term in September 2020.” the announcement read.
