False news filled the air yesterday as many were made to believe that a monarch, Awujale of Ijebuland, in Ogun State, Oba Sikiru kayode Adetona is dead, the healthy king has refuted the departure rumor with the News Agency of Nigeria.

The 83-year older monarch, who is spending his 57th year on the throne last week turned into a guest of Oriental Hotel on Victoria Island, at Lagos, where he has been staying after having a regular medical checkup in a Lagos hospital.

The king who is not happy with the fake news said spreading rumours about his passing without affirming from the palace in Ijebu-Ode or from his chiefs is not too professional.
