Agricultural Nonchalance, Specie Endangerment And Extinction In Nigeria by AmakaUche(f) : 1:58 pm On Mar 02, 2020

Some days I have cravings to savor the natural flavors of fruits that have gradually become unfamiliar to my taste buds through the years. I miss snacking on a big bowl of eye catching serunium cherries and plums, yes I definitely said plums!!!. I'm not sure whether or not to say we 'have' or 'had' those too because many years have passed since I last saw anything that looks like the sweet little yellow plums that grew on nigerian soil. What's worse is that they are a few others I only now have a fading memory of but not a known name for and it is all our fault that many have gone into extinction; fruits, vegetables, livestock and food crops alike while a whole lot are fast become endangered as the day goes bye but what do we care?. It is a shame that we value anything foreign but neglect what is ours. Once upon a time it wasn't just oranges, pineapples, bananas, mangoes and all the others the white man named. What happened to all the others we ought to hv nurtured and preserved for the generations unborn?
