It is obvious Nigerian singers are strictly on top of their game, this boils down to how our local songs are cherished and appreciated by foreigners, not long after the copyright saga between Nigerian rap star, Phyno and American singer, Pia Mia over the ownership of the song ‘I’m A Fan’

Gone were those days when majority of our songs are shifted down from foreign lands, now we see artistes from other countries remixing, collaborating and doing covers for assorted songs from Nigeria.

Example of cover songs from  Nigeria done by foreign artiste are, ‘IF’ by Davido covered by R. Kelly, ‘Ojuelegba’ by Wizkid covered by Drake and Skepta and now ‘Don’t Dull’ by Wizkid covered by a popular Asian artiste.

The difference in this song and the original version from Wizkid are the vixens, the car and the artiste himself, every other things are the same

Does it really mean that Nigeria songs have taken over the streets in the world? Our songs have portrayed the beauty of Africa.
