According to reports in ESPN, Eric Bailly has signed a new two-year-deal at Manchester United after the club triggered the option in the defender's contract.

The Europa League winner joined United in 2016 in a £30 million transfer from Laliga Santander side Villarreal, though he was expected to be out of contract at the end of this campaign but Red Devils have tied the Ivorian down at the club.

Injury has hampered Bailly's career at United as he can only boast of 74 appearances in four seasons. He sustained a knee injury back in July which has kept him out of the first team and he's yet to feature for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side this season.

The AFCON winner returned to action this month but since then, he has only featured for United U-23 side and could be back in first team action in no time.
