A parasitic disease caused by the gastrointestinal FLAGELLATE, ]Giardia limblia, is known as Giardiasis. About 10% infected have no Symptoms. When symptoms occur,they may include abdominal pain, diarrhea, weight loss etc.
Specialty: infectious disease. Symptoms: Diarrhea, abdominal pain, weight loss etc Causes: Giardia limblia. Giardia usually spread when Giardia limblia cyst within feaces contaminate food or water which is then eaten or drank by animals. Risk factors include travel in the developing world, eating uncooked food, rearing of pens. Giardiasis can be prevented by improved sanitation. Medication involves using metronidazole and tinidazole. Giardiasis is most commonly a parasitic disease that occurs globally. In 2013, there are above 285 million people world wide infected with this particular disease.
