A 20-year-old only child of a military man, Mary Opeyemi Dosumu, on Thursday got two job offers after she emerged best graduating student for 2018/2019 set at the 11th Convocation of The Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State.

Dosumu, who graduated with the Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.88 in Accounting, was the cynosure of all eyes after she got awards in five different categories.

She was immediately offered a job as Graduate Assistant in addition to a full scholarship by his alma mater.

However, one of the honourary doctorate degree recipients at the event, Chief Tunde Afolabi, who is the chairman of AMNI International Petroleum Development Company, in his acceptance speech, announced another job offer for Dosumu as Accountant Trainee at AMNI.

Chief Afolabi, who was conferred with Doctor of Science (honoris causa) alongside Chief Executive Officer of Unity Bank, Mrs Oluwatomi Somefun, who bagged Doctor of Business Administration, also promised to establish an annual award for best student in Health Sciences in the school beginning from next session.

In his remarks, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of RUN, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, told the graduating students not to be overwhelmed by the challenges facing the country and urged them not to lose focus and confront challenges of life.

Represented by the Acting Chairman of the board, Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, Osinbajo advised the graduands to avoid “bandwagon of pessimists” who would only complain of the country’s challenges.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Anthony Akinlo , said the 2018/2019 set of graduating students began their academic journey in the institution on November 20th, 2015, adding that a total of 344 students passed out with awards of first degree and post graduate honours.

Visitor to the institution, the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, said the university had the vision to produce God-fearing entrepreneurs.
