As part of measures to connect villages to electricity,
engineering students at Ashesi and a local NGO, have built
a solar power station to bring power to Eskubi, a remote
community in Eastern Region, Ghana.
The university took to its social media platform via
Facebook to announce the laudable initiative. Many
residents in rural Eskubi are without proper road
networks and electricity, which affects the economic
engagements of residents.
The university's partnership with the NGO will connect
the community to electricity and help build local capacity,
inspire the younger generation and prepare to usher the
remote community to the rest of Ghanaians.
