As part of measures to connect villages to electricity,
engineering students at Ashesi and a local NGO, have built a solar power station to bring power to Eskubi, a remote community in Eastern Region, Ghana. The university took to its social media platform via Facebook to announce the laudable initiative. Many residents in rural Eskubi are without proper road networks and electricity, which affects the economic engagements of residents. The university's partnership with the NGO will connect the community to electricity and help build local capacity, inspire the younger generation and prepare to usher the remote community to the rest of Ghanaians.
