The Senate has described the killings of Nigerians in South of Africa as unacceptable.

Senators urged the South African government to investigate the recent death of a Nigerian, Mrs Ndubuisi Chukwu, in a hotel, and other Nigerian citizens killed in that country in similar circumstances.

While commending the Federal Government for its prompt action in seeking explanation to the death of Mrs Chukwu, the Senate urged the government not to relent in its efforts to unravel the incident.
Adopting a motion by Senate Minority Leader Enyinnaya Abaribe (PDP, Abia) yesterday, the Senate noted with dismay the death of Mrs Chukwu at the Emperor’s Palace Hotel and Convention Centre on June 13 in South Africa.

The senators said urgent action needed to be taken, especially in view of the fact that Nigerians are very accommodative to citizens of that country resident in Nigeria.
