Another suspected member of Badoo was lynched on Wednesday in Ebute, Ipakodo, Ikorodu, Lagos, a yet-to-be recognized young man has been set ablaze by taxpayers.

Residents of Magbo, Ogijo, at Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State, set ablaze a middle-aged man imagined to be part of Badoo.

It was gathered that the Ebute inhabitants were keeping vigil in the area when they accosted the young man about 2am in Police Post bus stop.

They allegedly noticed that oil has been rubbed on his entire body and concluded that he was a member of Badoo, descending intensely on him.

It was also gathered that a senior police officer who hurried to the scene attempted in vain to halt the mob from lynching the defendant.
They allegedly put tyres on him and set him ablaze.

A resident, who identified himself as Olaniyi, stated he was visiting the workplace about 8am when he watched the remains of the sufferer.

According to him “I saw the deceased person at the center of a bonfire, the scene wasn’t far in the Ipako to Police Station, It was a magical sight and the authorities should speak to residents to prevent jungle justice."

"I understand people are angry because of the havoc that this gang had wreaked on lot of families. Individuals are taking the law into their own hands because they do not have confidence in the authorities anymore.”

Another resident of this area Abiodun Hay’Cube Odunuga that published about the episode on a Facebook forum, Ikorodu Ambassadors Group, stated the defendant confessed that he had just two accomplices.

He wrote, “Another guessed Badoo group had been captured in my region, Ebute Ipakodo, Police Post bus prevent just.

He had been captured at 2am yesterday(Wednesday) by the people of this area as nobody really goes to sleep.

He explained "They were in number and they’d been in town observing where to attack, the angry mob did not hear anything as they’ve seen enough proof to burn off the defendant to death”

While discouraging lynching, the police spokesperson at Lagos, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, stated that few of the suspects detained during raids on communities in Ikorodu was screened.

He said those who had been found innocent were set free while 53 others suspected to be members of the gang wereall remanded in Kirikiri Prison.
