Lionel Messi’s free-kick against Liverpool may have guaranteed his appearance in the Champions League final.
Barcelona led 2-0 - certainly not an insurmountable advantage - when Messi smashed home a brilliant free-kick in the 81st minute.
Ousmane Dembele missed a glorious opportunity to add a fourth late on but the Blaugrana will be delighted with their three-goal lead.
They travel to Anfield this Tuesday knowing that just one goal will require Liverpool to score five.
And with Messi playing, looking for just one goal isn’t too much to ask.

The Argentinian has now scored 48 goals in all competitions this season and his free-kick brought up his 600th career goal for Barcelona.
It’s also left the Spanish giants with a great opportunity to win the Champions League for the first time since 2015.
Mo Salah's reactions say it all
Liverpool have it all to do and Mohamed Salah’s reactions to Messi’s second and third goals say it all.
The Egyptian looked absolutely devastated after each goal. It was the look of a man who realises Liverpool’s Champions League dream is now hanging by a thread.

Despite the deficit, the mood among Liverpool’s players remains defiant.
“It’s possible,” James Milner said, per The Guardian . “If it’s possible anywhere then it is possible at Anfield.
“We have seen special European nights there before and big comebacks. It’s going to be very difficult, we know that.
“We’ve seen the character in this squad on more than one occasion over the last few years.
“We all know the character that is there, we need to be together and bounce back. I have no doubt this team will do that.”

Liverpool are in danger of having their once-promising season end without a single trophy.
Having been embroiled in a fierce battle with Manchester City in the Premier League, they will miss out on the title if Pep Guardiola’s side win their final two matches.
And they need a miracle to keep their hopes of winning the Champions League alive.
