32-Year-Old Farmer Arrested For R*ping His 78-Year-Old Grandmother

A Chief Magistrate’s Court in Minna has ordered the remand in jail custody of a 32-year-old farmer, Rilwan Salisu, when he pleaded guilty to a charge of rape on Tuesday.

Salisu is being tried over the rape of a 78-year-old grandmother, contrary to section 282 of the legal code.

It was alleged that the farmer injured and broken the aged woman’s genitals.

According to the Police prosecuting officer, Mr Daniel Ikwoche, the victim’s son, Mukhtar Garba, reported the matter at the Nasko police headquarters on Sept. 14.

Ikwoche quoted the complainant as alleging that the suspect person, a resident of Kwada village in Magama, he entered into the room of his grandmother while she was asleep, and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.
