Married Woman R*ped To Death In Okparabe Community, Delta

It was a sad moment on Sunday evening in Okparabe community, Ughelli South government area of Delta State following the discovery of corpse of a house wife identified as Mrs. Beatrice Okpoudhu who was allegedly r*ped to death by hoodlums.

It was gathered that the woman had gone in search of firewood to arrange meal for her husband during night fall but unfortunately met some of hoodlums who r*ped her to death and drop her corpse within the bush.

Mr. Sunday Akpoghene, a friend, who spoke to journalists within the area, revealed that the victim’s husband launched massive search after many hours without returning.

Meanwhile her lifeless body was found within the bush not far from her house with injuries sustained all over her private parts.

A police at Otujeremi Division, who spoke to newsmen on the condition of anonymity, said that two persons were arrested in connection with the incident, adding that clear indications showed that woman was allegedly raped and killed by the gang of the suspects as investigation was on going.

But the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, disclosed that it was the fourth of its kind in the last few weeks in the entire Ughelli communities.

He said, “the police are investigating cases of rapes, murder in many of the Ughelli communities, the anti kidnapping squad unit of the state CID has taken over those cases, particularly the woman’s incident, it’s the fourth case the police are handling, and all the hoodlums involved will be brought to book.”
