Agriculture in Nigeria has been neglected since the inception of oil in the country. Before the advent of oil in the country, agriculture was the main source of foreign exchange in the country. Agriculture is seen as a poor man's job but if the government could not only depend on crude oil but also move into the agricultural sector, I know that could trigger a change. Nigeria is one of the top largest oil producing countries but yet is know of as one of the world poorest countries. Oil in Nigeria brought about the salvation of Nigeria and also its doom. Therefore, if only Nigeria can concentrate on more than one sector of the economy which could be prominent by concentrating on the agricultural sector, there could be development in the country.
