Popular Gospel artiste, Nike Akilapa in a recent interview has come out to say that its not all about the money,its all about propagating the gospel around the world that motivates her.

She stated that as at the time she released her first album, there wasn’t much money in the music industry unlike now but went ahead to do it for passion for souls.

"It gives me great joy when people are touched by my songs and give their lives to Jesus Christ.”She said.

She further disclosed that she studied music and actually started music professionally 13 years ago although she has been singing since she was a child.

Akilapa has 5 studio albums to her credit presently and is currently working on shooting the visuals for some of her songs.

The artiste therefore imployed all to sponsor gospel music because finance is actually a big challenge in her career,using the secular music as a case study, in her words:

"secular music is flourishing because there is a lot of sponsorship for them, so they’re able to do whatever they want.”She said.

She urged Nigerians to support the gospel music industry.
