Breathing suspended microbial contaminants may infect a person with bacteria, fungi, parasites or viruses. Bacteria and parasites often cause diarrhea, fever, cramps,  and vomiting. Symptoms of fungal infections include allergic reactions and lung infections. Viral symptoms vary.
