Maurizio Sarri To Juventus ‘Confirmed by geremyoguz(m) : 5:17 pm On Jun 12, 2019

The Italian manager who led Chelsea to a third-place finish in the Premier League and the Europa League trophy this past season has admitted to being homesick amidst him being lined up to succeed Massimiliano Allegri.

However, for weeks, no concrete report has emerged confirming Sarri’s departure as plenty of news outlets believe that all parties are probably negotiating on a particular deal.

“For us Italians the call of home is strong. We feel that something is missing. It has been a heavy year. I begin to feel the weight of distant friends, elderly parents I rarely see,” the 60-year-old boss told the press.
my age I only make professional choices. I won’t be able to train for 20 years. It’s hard work, the bench. When I return home to Tuscany I feel like a stranger.”

Sarri’s compatriot and the recent manager of AS Roma, Claudio Ranieri has somehow leaked the news of Sarri actually signing for the Turin-based outfit.

And when asked about his time back in Italian football, the former Leicester City coach said, “How did I find Italian football? An improvement and with the possibility of evolving again. The signs are positive. We are going to have a season that I imagine crackling: the premises where they are all, with the return of Sarri and Conte.”

Football.london believes this is a guarantee that Sarri will end up with the Bianconeri next season with Chelsea left to look for a new manager yet again.

Chelsea have opened discussions to make Frank Lampard their next manager by geremyoguz(m) : 8:05 pm On Jun 12, 2019

Frank Lampard is being linked to the Chelsea job every 10 seconds right now.

At first, the rumours seemed somewhat unbelievable and that Maurizio Sarri would be given another season at Stamford Bridge, but now the reports are starting to gather momentum.

It seems more and more likely that Sarri will bow out of the Chelsea job after just one season, banking his third-place finish and embarking on a new adventure at Juventus.

Is it a done deal? Absolutely not, but reports are suggesting that Chelsea are already drawing up a list of replacements and Lampard seems to be making the cut every single time.
Lampard has featured alongside the likes of Nuno Espirito Santo, Javi Gracia, Massimiliano Allegri and Erik ten Hag, but always seems to be the leading candidate.

Sarri Out, Lampard In? by geremyoguz(m) : 8:11 pm On Jun 12, 2019

There are obviously worries about his managerial experience, having only spent just one season - albeit reasonably successful - at the helm of Derby County.
The Englishman was able to guide his young Rams to the play-off final, only to suffer defeat to Aston Villa and his former teammate John Terry.
So, will that be Lampard's final game as Derby boss and will he be returning to Chelsea? Well, it seems that situation is looking more likely than ever.

June 12 cannot be public holiday when Nigerians are hungry – Atiku by geremyoguz(m) : 10:54 pm On Jun 13, 2019

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has said June 12 remained a threshold in Nigeria’s national life and demanded some soul-searching from Nigerians.

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has said June 12 remained a threshold in Nigeria’s national life and demanded some soul-searching from Nigerians.

Mr Abubakar said in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday that the day was one to ask the salient question of “How better off are Nigerians?”

According to Mr Abubakar, June 12 demands something bigger than merely declaring it a Democracy Day.

“June 12 is at the soul of our democratic struggle; a threshold in our national life.

“The significance of the celebration of June 12, 1993, Presidential Election is a reminder of our history to becoming a democratic country.
“On this day 26 years ago, Nigeria voted for democracy against the jackboot notion of oppressive totalitarianism.

“The collective decision by Nigerians to elect democracy on that day was not to aggrandise the political elite or to replace military dictatorship with civilian autocracy. No.

“The choice of democracy was to restore power to the people,” he said.

According to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate in the last general elections, there is still disrespect for the rule of law and disregard of court orders on issues that border on fundamental human rights.

He said that it was not enough to declare June 12 a work-free day when ordinary Nigerians still didn’t have the freedom to find a better life from the grip of poverty.

“It is not enough to declare June 12 a work-free day when a disproportionate number of citizens are not sure of where their next meal will come from and when the sanctity of their lives is not guaranteed.

“It is not enough to declare June 12 a work-free day when freedom of the press, and of speech, fundamentals of democracy is being assailed.”

Mr Abubakar said that as a compatriot who stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the icon of the June 12 struggle, the late Chief MKO Abiola, he knew first-hand that the choice of HOPE as his campaign slogan wasn’t “merely a populist tokenism.” He said Mr Abiola did not mean to deceive Nigerians with a hope he could not deliver upon.

“Today, the minimum requirement for any June 12 convert is to demand of them wherever they may be – either in government or in private lives – to deliver on the promises they made to the people.” Mr Abubakar said that being a lover of June 12 was to believe in the common good of the people. “June 12 is about the political leadership having the focus to retool the Nigerian economy.

“It is about having the skills to create wealth and jobs for the teeming mass of unemployed. It is not about the inclination for shared pains; it is about shared prosperity.

“As we celebrate yet another episode of the June 12 struggle, the desire for hope is more preponderant today much as it was 26 years ago. “So, for all true lovers of democracy, let us keep the hope alive.”

Tribunal Reserves Ruling In Atiku PDP's Request To Inspect INEC Server Card by geremyoguz(m) : 11:40 am On Jun 14, 2019

Tribunal Reserves Ruling in Atiku, PDP’s Request to Inspect INEC Server, Card Reader

Atiku's counsel Chief Chris Uche insist that INEC have data in the server so the court should grant permission to inspect and report back. Uche told the tribunal that the inspection of the server and data is necessary in the interest of justice, transparency and neutrality on the part of the first respondent, INEC. He sited several sections of the law and INEC proceedings proving the existence of a server containing data of those of Smart Card Reader Accreditation.

In reply, INEC counsel Yunus Usman SAN tells the tribunal categorically with a bareface, without even an atom of shame that "We don't have a server" 🙆‍♂️🙆‍♀️🙆‍♂️ We collated results manually. He completely denied the existence of a server.

Buhari's counsel Wale Olanipekun in support of INEC said, the court should not grant PDP's request of a permission to have access to the server. "It makes no sense since INEC have said they don't have a server"

Similarly, APC counsel Lateef Fagbemi urged the tribunal to be wary of making an order which it is not capable of enforcing, because INEC has said it has no server.

Consequently, Justice ML Garba announced that the ruling in the application is reserved to a date to be communicated to parties and adjourned the pre-hearing of Atiku and PDP’s petition till June 24.

Chelsea Premier League fixtures: Full 2019-20 match schedule by geremyoguz(m) : 6:45 pm On Jun 14, 2019

The Blues finished third last term and will be hoping to mount a sustained title bid in the upcoming campaign

Chelsea enjoyed a third-place finish and won the Europa League last season, but a cloud lingers over the club ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
Bereft of talisman Eden Hazard, who left to join Real Madrid in a big-money move, they are facing into a FIFA-imposed transfer ban and doubts swirl over the future of Maurizio Sarri at the club.
They will have to put all that to one side though as they kick off the new season with an away game against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Manchester United on August 11

Despite the stern test to commence the campaign, the fixture list has been relatively kind to the Blues in the early stages, with games against Leicester City, Norwich City, Sheffield United and Wolves completing the first five weeks.
A home clash against Liverpool awaits on September 21, with a trip to Manchester City in store on November 23.

A series of London derbies are scheduled for the end of the year, with away clashes against Tottenham and Arsenal set for December 21 and December 28 respectively.
The Blues' full 2019-20 Premier League fixture list can be found below.

The Telegraph earlier claimed that the total sum with all the bonuses should amo by geremyoguz(m) : 8:22 pm On Jun 14, 2019

The deal was officially announced yesterday. The fee has been rumoured to be about €100mln. But Hazard's performances can help the Blues to earn up to €130mln.

Spanish newspaper Marca revealed which conditions should be met for Chelsea to earn the maximum fee from the Eden Hazard deal.

It has been reported that Real Madrid will pay £88.5mln (€100mln) for the Belgian, with some add-ons to follow if certain conditions will be met.

According to the source, those conditions are divided into categories, from easier to more difficult targets.

For example, the more realistic ones are for Hazard to play a certain amount of games and for the club to qualify for the Champions League, something the Spanish giants do every year.

On the other hand, the biggest bonus is rumoured to be paid in case Hazard wins Ballon d'Or or at least enters the final shortlist of three contenders.

It is not specified how much Chelsea stand to earn if a single condition is met.

The Telegraph earlier claimed that the total sum with all the bonuses should amount to £130mln. The reputable newspaper also stated that all the bonuses were 'easily achievable'.

Tribunal Reserves Ruling In PDP’s Application To Inspect INEC Server by geremyoguz(m) : 8:33 pm On Jun 14, 2019

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has reserved its ruling in the application filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate in the February 23 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, till June 24. PDP and its candidate Atiku has earlier moved a motion seeking for access to inspect the server and data of smart card reader used by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the conduct of the presidential election.

Tribunal Reserves Ruling In PDP’s Application To Inspect INEC Server by geremyoguz(m) : 8:33 pm On Jun 14, 2019

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) sitting in Abuja, on Thursday, reserved ruling on the application filed by Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for access to inspect the server and data of smart card readers used by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the conduct of the February 23 presidential election.

The presiding justice of the five-man panel, Justice Mohammed Garba, reserved date for ruling in the application shortly after the counsel in the matter adopted and argued their brief of arguments in the suit.
Garba said the panel would communicate the date of the ruling to the parties’ lead counsel once they are ready.

In moving the motion for inspection of the INEC server and other electoral materials, one of the lead counsel to Atiku and the PDP, Chief Chris Uche (SAN), said the request is essential to their petition challenging the return of President Muhammadu Buhari at the election.
The petitioners had in their petition stated that by the figures obtained from INEC’s server, they and not Buhari and the third respondent, All Progressives Congress (APC), won the presidential election held on February, 23 this year.

According to the figures allegedly obtained from the server, Atiku said he scored 18,356,732 votes as against that of Buhari, whom he said polled 16,741,430.
Uche told the tribunal that the inspection of the server and data is necessary in the interest of justice, transparency and neutrality on the part of the first respondent, INEC.

Responding, the lawyer to INEC, Yunus Usman (SAN), vehemently opposed the application for inspection on the grounds that the Court of Appeal had on March 6 refused the prayers of the petitioners to inspect INEC server and smart card readers.

He maintained that the court having refused the prayers lacked jurisdiction to revisit the same application.
Usman therefore urged the tribunal to dismiss the application, adding that: “We do not have server.”
The lead counsel to Buhari, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) and that of the APC, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), also made similar argument in opposing the application for inspection.

Olanipekun told the tribunal that it lacks jurisdiction to overule itself, while Fagbemi urged the tribunal to be wary of making an order which it is not capable of enforcing, because INEC has said it has no server.
Consequently, Justice Garba announced that the ruling in the application is reserved to a date to be communicated to parties and adjourned the pre-hearing of Atiku and PDP’s petition till June 24.

Earlier, the tribunal heard the motions filed by INEC, President Buhari and APC urging it to dismiss the petition of the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) and its presidential candidate, Chief Ambrose Oworu, for being incompetent and abuse of court processes.
Olanipekun, in his argument, said that there was no petition filed by the party before the tribunal because what was served on the respondents is a petition against referendum which the court lacked jurisdiction to entertain.

The tribunal however reserved ruling to a date to be communicated to parties in the suit and adjourned the pre-hearing of the HDP’s petition till June 23.

Atiku, who is the presidential candidate of the PDP in the February 23 presidential election and his party are among the three other political parties and their presidential candidates currently seeking the nullification of President Buhari’s victory at the presidential poll.
The forth petitioner, Geff Ojinaka and his party, Coalition for Change (C4C), had without reason on June 10, applied to withdraw their petition against the election of Buhari.

The application, which was not objected to by the respondents in the suit, was accordingly dismissed, leaving that of the PDP, Hope Democratic Party (HDP) and the Peoples Democratic Movement and that of their candidates.

Toronto Raptors Win First NBA Title To Spark Wild Jubilation In Canada by geremyoguz(m) : 10:00 pm On Jun 14, 2019

The Toronto Raptors defeated Golden State 114-110 to capture their first NBA crown on Thursday, becoming the first league champion from outside the United States by dethroning the defending titleholders.

Kyle Lowry and Pascal Siakam each scored 26 points while Kawhi Leonard and reserve Fred VanVleet each added 22 as Toronto won the best-of-seven series four games to two.

Leonard was named the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player for the second time in his career after the first in 2014 with San Antonio, which traded him to Toronto last July.

“Last summer I was going through a lot. I just kept working hard and had my mind set on this goal right here,” Leonard said. “This is why I play basketball. This is what I work hard for. I’m glad to see it all pay off.”

The Raptors became the first Canadian club to win a major North American sports title since the 1993 Toronto Blue Jays captured Major League Baseball’s World Series.

Klay Thompson scored 30 points to lead the Warriors but left the game with a left knee injury late in the third quarter after landing awkwardly on his left leg.

Injury-hit Golden State was already without two-time NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Kevin Durant, who returned in game five Monday after being sidelined for a month only to suffer a ruptured right Achilles tendon.

Andre Iguodala added 22 points for the Warriors, Stephen Curry had 21 and Draymond Green contributed 11 points, 18 rebounds and 13 assists.

Everybody on this team played with a lot of heart,” Green said. “We just came up a little short.”

Golden State had a final shot to win trailing 111-110 but Curry missed a 3-pointer and Green called a timeout when the team had none, setting up three final free throws by Leonard to seal the victory.

Leonard was named the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player for the second time in his career after the first in 2014 with San Antonio

The Raptors spoiled the Warriors’ farewell appearance at Oracle Arena. Golden State’s home since 1971 will be replaced by a new $1 billion venue in San Francisco next season.

Toronto’s triumph made this first NBA Finals where road teams won five consecutive games.

Lowry scored 21 points in the first half to give Toronto a 60-57 lead, hitting 7-of-10 shots from the floor and 4-of-5 from 3-point range. Thompson led the Warriors with 18 first-half points.
