Re: Slumdog Millionaire and Life of Pi actor, Irrfan Khan, dies aged 53 by ellamoore(f) : 10:02 am On Apr 30, 2020

What pity I pray for those fighting cancer to have the strength to overcome it

Popular Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan, known internationally for roles in Slumdog Millionaire, Jurassic World, and Life of Pi, has died at the age of 53.

Irrfan breathed his last on Wednesday, April 29, after battling a medical complication arising from colon infection, his spokesperson said in an official statement. The actor was admitted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Mumbai where he passed away.

Irrfan is survived by wife Sutapa Sikder, and sons Babil and Ayan.

The actor opened up on Twitter in 2018 that he was diagnosed with an endocrine tumour, a rare illness affecting cells that release hormones into the bloodstream. He later underwent treatment in a London hospital.

Two months after he opened up in a tweet, he wrote an open letter about his experience with the cancer treatment. In the letter, he spoke about the "intensity" of his pain and the "uncertainty" of life.

His death was announced in a statement released on Wednesday.

The statement reads: "'I trust, i have surrendered'; These were the some of the many words that Irrfan expressed in a heartfelt note he wrote in 2018, opening up about his fight with cancer. And a man of few words and an actor of silent expressions with his deep eyes and his memorable actions on screen.

"It’s saddening that this day, we have to bring forward the news of him passing away. Irrfan was a strong soul, someone who fought till the very end and always inspired everyone who came close to him.

"After having been struck by lightning in 2018 with the news of a rare cancer, he took life soon after as it came and he fought the many battles that came with it.

"Surrounded by his love, his family for whom he most cared about, he left for his heavenly abode, leaving behind truly a legacy of his own. We all pray and hope that he is at peace. And to resonate and part with his words he had said, 'As if I was tasting life for the first time, the magical side of it'."

Nollywood stars and politicians have taken to social media to mourn him.

Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar tweeted his condolences for the actor, writing: "My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irfaan Khan salute."

Actor Amitabh Bachchan, who worked with Irrfan in Piku tweeted, "An incredible talent... a gracious colleague... a prolific contributor to the World of Cinema... left us too soon... creating a huge vacuum."

Irrfan made his Bollywood debut with Mira Nair's Salaam Bombay in 1988, and has worked in numerous films since then. He has also been part of many Hollywood projects, from Jurassic World to Slumdog Millionaire.

Re: Man named Tupac Shakur gets apology from Kentucky governor by ellamoore(f) : 10:06 am On Apr 30, 2020

It is good for us to apologize any time we wrong someone

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear has apologized to a man named Tupac Shakur after he made fun of his unemployment claim, mistakenly believing it to have been a prank.

In a press conference on Monday, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said someone in the state had filed for unemployment under the name Tupac Shakur. He then called the person out for "using somebody else's identity."

Beshear added: "And that person probably felt they were being funny, they probably did. Except for the fact that, because of them, we've got to go through so many other claims."

That's "not okay," the governor continued. "Can't be doing that."

One day later, Beshear apologized after finding out there is really a Kentucky man named Tupac Shakur, the same name as the late rapper who was shot dead on a Las Vegas street in 1996.

"I talked to him on the phone today. I apologized," Beshear said. "I told him how it happened. But it's my fault. He was gracious. I said I'm sorry if I embarrassed him or caused him any attention he didn't want. He ended the call 'God bless.'"

The governor said the state is now going to make sure that the unemployment claim made by Shakur, who goes by Malik, is resolved.

Unemployment claims have surged as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, as closed businesses led to many people out of work.

Don't trust any body, you don't know who is who

A man pretending to be a good Samaritan allegedly stole a car yesterday April 27, while helping to remove cars from a car dealership as fire gutted an NNPC petrol station at Ogba.

As fire destroyed the petrol station, business owners located close to the petrol station tried their best to salvage some of their goods. A car dealership close to the petrol station was surrounded by people helping to drive the cars off to a safe distance.

Unfortunately, one of those who came out pretending to help was only there to steal and he made away with a red Range Rover Sport 2008 model.

I that's why I like Nigeria we see the bright side of things

Comedian Mr Jollof has attacked Nigerian governors turning the coronavirus pandemic into a fashion parade with the kind of face mask they wear.

Mr Jollof who appeared in the video below stated that instead of the governors to be searching for a cure for coronavirus, they are busy displaying their fashion sense.

Wondering why they think it is a crime for Nigeria to be the country to produce the cure for the disease, Mr Jollof stated that the governors have been carried away by the gesture of sharing palliatives.

Mention Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos and Governor Ben Ayade of Cross Rivers, Mr Jollof revealed that they are at the forefront of the coronavirus fashion parade.
Re: Pastor E.A Adeboye speaks on new crisis coming soon to Nigeria by ellamoore(f) : 4:51 pm On Apr 30, 2020

God please deliver Nigeria from this pandemic

A few weeks back, RCCG General Overseer, Pastor E.A. Adeboye revealed that another crisis is set to hit Nigeria.

He revealed this at his Easter Sunday Online Service.

“We bless the name of the Lord for another Sunday” he began. “Please continue to pray for His mercy. I bring good news to you, the return journey to normalcy has begun so that pastors can return to their duty post.

The return journey to normalcy will be steady. I humbly suggest, in future, they will include in their committee-men of God, the imams and archbishops so that they can help them in the warfare. We need to return all the glory to God because we don’t want the victories we have won so far to be reversed. We don’t want a relapse of this scourge. May I remind you, this Coronavirus will recede, let nobody deceive you, it is not going to disappear. Let us give all glory back to God so that He will give us a permanent victory.

In all our churches, prayer warriors have been praying for mercy. Please don’t stop praying for mercy for Nigeria. We really need to pray about fire outbreaks because we don’t want the big one to come to pass. Pray against storms. Be sure in my own little corner, I am talking to God and He will have mercy on us.

Topic: Joy Cometh: Text: Psalm 30:4-5 Apart from the fact that Easter signifies a new beginning, one of the biggest message we get from Easter is that Joy is coming. I want to decree to all of you listening to me today, that joy will come speedily. Amen. Joy is coming because, there will be a day.

Looking at days from 4 crucial areas in the life of human being

(1) Physically: We are saying to the sick, death does not have the last say, it is risen Christ that has the last say. John 11:25, John 11:39-45. Take note, Jesus Christ didn’t speak to Death, He simply say, Lazarus come forth, because death is too small for Him to address. Mark 5:25-34.

(2) Materially: Poverty does not have the last say, the All Sufficient God is the one who has the last say. Genesis 17:1, He can still turn your last to your beginning, 1 Kings 17:8-16, 2 Kings 4:1-7. I don’t know how God will do it but as a result of this lockdown, your fortune is about to change. Amen. John 6:5-13. Poverty does not have the last say, the one who is more than enough is the one that has the last say. I decree to somebody listening to me today, by the time this lockdown is over, your level will change. Amen.

(3) Spiritually: Darkness does not have the last say, it is the light that has the last say, Genesis 1:1-3, John 1:4-5, Mark 5:2-20 (classical example of light defeating darkness). I decree to somebody today, it doesn’t matter the forces of darkness against you, you shall be free. Amen.

(4) Maritally: Barrenness does not have the last say, it is the one who made you, that has the last say, John 1:1-3. He made you and He is the one who has the last say about your fruitfulness, Genesis 1:28, Genesis 18;9-14, Romans 4:19. The resurrection and life has the last say. Genesis 21:1-7.

For those who are still in the night time. Come to Jesus Christ, He will take you from night to day. Surrender your life to Him today and your life will never remain the same.

Prayer.

Father, let my own morning of Joy come right now”.
Re: Joe Biden accuser Tara Reade says she's 'lost total respect' for CNN's Anderson by ellamoore(f) : 5:13 pm On Apr 30, 2020

How can people be so baised, people who assault girls should be punished not pampered

Tara Reade, the lady who accused US presidential candidate Joe Biden of sexually assaulting her when she worked for him as a staffer in 1994, has now revealed that her opinions of some journalists and media outlets have shifted in recent weeks based on their coverage of her claim.

Tara Reade, told her story about the former vice president and former senator over a month ago with progressive podcast host Katie Halper.

In the March interview, she alleged he forcefully kissed her and used his fingers to penetrate her while she came to deliver a package to him in his office in 1993.

Since then, Biden has done series of TV interviews with programme hosts of Democrat controlled media houses including NBC News' Chuck Todd, ABC News' George Stephanopoulos, and twice with Anderson Cooper of CNN-- and all didn't ask Biden about her public claim, with fears that the Democrat party sees that Reade's claims could hurt Biden in his White House battle with Trump.

"I think it's shocking that this much time has passed and that he is an actual nominee for president and they're not asking the questions," Reade told Fox News on Sunday.

"He's been on 'Anderson Cooper' at least twice where he was not asked."

"I guess my question is, if this were Donald Trump, would they treat it the same way? If this were Brett Kavanaugh, did they treat it the same way?" Reade said. "In other words, it's politics and political agenda playing a role in objective reporting and asking the question."

"There are two things happening at once. [Biden] is not making himself accessible to be asked the question. And when he does make himself accessible, they are not asking, those anchors. And so that tells there may be a political agenda behind that and that's gross. ... I'm a survivor and I would like the question asked."

"I really would look to [Cooper] for answers and I would never do that again. I've lost total respect," Reade said, adding that "as a civilian," it's difficult to know "what news source to trust" since shows like Cooper's have a "blatant bias."

Re: Felt Bad When We Were Told We Couldn’t Have S*x Before Marriage Stella Damasus by ellamoore(f) : 6:05 pm On Apr 30, 2020

The Bible also warns against premarital sex

Nollywood actress Stella Damasus has spoken about having to abstain from premarital s*x in a live Instagram video with a young couple.

According to the screen diva, she felt bad for her husband at the time but she had to stay strong following advise from her pastor that they should desist from the act.

According to the screen diva, the period of courtship should rather be used to properly lay the foundation for an everlasting love instead of lovemaking.

She said, “Dating this person to a lot of people means s*x and after immediately after that, marriage. they skip the actual dating and skip courtship. The courtship period is where that foundation should be built properly, where you are getting to know each other because you want to have a forever with that person.”

“That period for us was very tough. I felt so sorry for this man because we were told specifically by our pastor at that time that under no circumstance must we have any physical interaction,” the mother of two revealed

“So, the man lamented and said how can I have a babe like this, and I can’t touch, I can’t look,” Stella said, noting that the period was a very hard one for her and her husband.
Re: Ooni of Ife’s wife marks 27th Birthday by ellamoore(f) : 7:52 pm On Apr 30, 2020

Congrats on your new age

Oloori Morenike Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi, the Queen of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Oloori is now 27 has released some photos to mark it.

Quite fashionable, she has succeeded in transforming her modest nature into the elegance of royalty. Not a lover of bright hues, she constantly wears white but still embraces other colours.

Elegant with graceful gait, the new queen, a prophetess, is the Founder/President of En-Heralds, an interdenominational ministry based in Akure, Ondo State.

According to palace sources, the young Naomi was a visitor to one of the resorts built by the monarch in Ile Ife.

“She must have come for a spiritual rejuvenation exercise and met with a prominent woman of God, who is based in the United Kingdom who later introduced her to the king. She (the prophetess) is good at match-making couples and has helped with some celebrities whose marriages have crashed, to get new spouses.

“Her recommendation worked and Kabiesi Ogunwusi fell in love with Naomi’s youthfulness and spirituality,” sources said.

Naomi is said to have started public ministry at the age of 18 and became a full time evangelist in October 2011. She is a singer with a passion for youths empowerment.

Her mum, who is also a prophetess, is as fashionable as her daughter. Always dressed in white too, you can hardly decipher who gave birth to who between the gorgeous duo.

According to palace sources, she cooperated with all that she was instructed to do as the queen and went through traditional marriage cleansing rites.

“The queen of the cradle of Yoruba land cannot ignore certain rites. It was the blood of an animal used for the cleansing and she walked on it into the palace. This isn’t strange because her predecessor, Queen Wuraola, did it when she was brought in from her father’s house in Benin. Any wife of the king must undertake this rite. It was blood used and not Osun (camwood),” sources said.
