Also sharing the newspaper publication from 2002, Ifeoma wrote;

Today mark’s 18 I escaped death!But God changed my story (27/1/2002) during the bomb blast that happened in Ikeja cantonment when I was just 3+years old.

That took the lives of millions of souls including that of my kid brother and left me the only surviving child.

The ban on motorcycles on highways and some areas by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu continues to raise more questions as school pupils joined the conversation.

On Friday, January 31, 2020, a group of pupils of Chrisland School visited the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu at his office in Alausa, Ikeja.

In a video shared by the governor on his Twitter page, one of the students asked him to explain why he banned Okada operators from plying certain areas in the state.

Responding to the question, Sanwo-Olu said Okada men have caused us so much pain, adding that they are responsible for several deaths, accidents and crimes in Lagos.

He said, “ We are nit banning them everywhere in Lagos. Lagos has a total of 20 Local Government and 37 LCDAs, we are banning them in 15 out of the 57, and we afre also restricting them on bridges and highways. And some of the reasons we found, apart from the high level of recklessness, they’ve caused us so much pain. There have been several deaths, there have been several accidents, there have been several crimes committed by them and the government has an existing law about six years ago when they were banned. It is that same law we are bringing back to enforce it. So, its not that we are banning them all over Lagos”.

On Monday, January 27, 2020, the Lagos government announced a ban on the activities of Okada and Keke Napeps in some Local Government Areas like Apapa, Lagos Mainland, Surulere, Eti Osa, Lagos Island, Ikeja effective from February 1, 2020.

The ban also affects Gokada, Oride and other ride hailing companies.

Two female students from Queen Idia Hall of the premier University of Ibadan have been reported to get pregnant for one painter (what a shameful act).

The identity of the students was withheld by the management of the school.

The painter was part of those on contract to renovate the school since last semester. And the painter has been having an affair with both ladies.

Report had it that this ladies went to the extents of cooking for this young man.

Unfortunately, both of them got pregnant for him. One declared that she loves him and she's ready to get married to him while the other aborted the pregnancy out of shame not caring about the implications of the act.

Further investigation are still going on concerning this incident.

There's another virus that has infected 15 million Americans across the country and killed more than 8,200 people this season alone. It's not a new pandemic -- it's influenza.The 2019-2020 flu season is projected to be one of the worst in a decade, according to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. At least 140,000 people have been hospitalized with complications from the flu, and that number is predicted to climb as flu activity swirls.

The flu is a constant in Americans' lives. It's that familiarity that makes it more dangerous to underestimate, said Dr. Margot Savoy, chair of Family and Community Medicine at Temple University's Lewis Katz School of Medicine.

"Lumping all the viral illness we tend to catch in the winter sometimes makes us too comfortable thinking everything is 'just a bad cold,'" she said. "We underestimate how deadly influenza really is."

Even the low-end estimate of deaths each year is startling, Savoy said: The Centers for Disease Control predicts at least 12,000 people will die from the flu in the US every year. In the 2017-2018 flu season, as many as 61,000 people died, and 45 million were sickened.n the 2019-2020 season so far, 15 million people in the US have gotten the flu and 8,200 people have died from it, including at least 54 children. Flu activity has been elevated for 11 weeks straight, the CDC reported, and will likely continue for the next several weeks.

Savoy, who also serves on the American Academy of Family Physician's board of directors, said the novelty of emerging infections can overshadow the flu. People are less panicked about the flu because healthcare providers "appear to have control" over the infection.We fear the unknown and we crave information about new and emerging infections," she said. "We can't quickly tell what is truly a threat and what isn't, so we begin to panic -- often when we don't need to."

Those complications include pneumonia, inflammation in the heart and brain and organ failure -- which, in some cases, can be fatal.

The CDC reported at least 173 million flu vaccine doses have been administered this flu season so far -- that's about 4 million more doses than the manufacturers who make the vaccines projected to provide this season.

Still, there are some who decide skipping the vaccine is worth the risk. A 2017 study found that people decline the flu vaccine because they don't think it's effective or they're worried it's unsafe, even though CDC research shows the vaccine effectively reduces the risk of flu in up to 60% of the population.
