How can I begin a successful business ? by SamAko1(m) : 6:38 pm On Jul 06, 2023

Starting a successful business is the easy point.

You can raise money or get experience in a domain and then start your own business. The later is the better way for most people, even though it takes longer.

If you have experience in any industry you can see inefficiencies, build relationships and start your own thing.

What is difficult is longevity. In other words, maintaining a successful business.

Many of the answers below deal with the question well.

One thing most people forget is that most of the successful businesses in the world don’t try to be all things to all people.

They actually reject clients and often stick to a small niche

Think about it.

When you went out to bars and nightclubs as a youngster, most places struggled to fill up.

The most successful places would have bouncers outside and rules about attire. They would regularly reject those who aren’t dressed right or don’t have the right attitude.

Some would even only accept people who pre-booked.

You might go in and discover that the place is packed:

The same is true for most successful businesses.

Rolex isn’t that much better than some of the fakes out there, but people will wait on waiting lists for years to get some makes.

Ferrari and many luxury car brands aren’t affordable for 99% of the population. Out of the remaining 1%, probably only 1%-5% will buy. They aren’t losing sleep about that.

That doesn’t mean they don’t advertise or try to get new clients. Many will try to get their name out there aggressively.

Rolex, I am told, does forty-five minutes a day of sales training for their staff, and spends millions on advertising every year.

Yet they still aren’t looking to sell to everybody. They aren’t even looking to sell to 100% of wealthy people.

For instance, they aren’t looking to sell to frugal wealthy people for obvious reasons.

It isn’t just big brands either that are selective.

There are some “elite yoga coaches” who only take on a handful of wealthy clients every year. They interview all the applicants and only accept the ones that are a right fit.

For example, if twenty people apply a year, and there are only ten places, ten get rejected, or moved onto a waiting list.

Likewise, for my business, I struggled in the early years, despite having the needed technical knowledge.

Things changed when I progressively became stricter about who I take as a client, which has now culminated in needing to bring out eligibility quizzes like this one (Take Adam Fayed’s client eligibility quiz), to weed out unserious people from the serious, due to very high demands

Dangote billions dollar nightmare by SamAko1(m) : 6:03 pm On Jul 07, 2023

Dangote’s Billion-Dollar Nightmare: Nigeria’s Richest Man on the Brink of Default Amid Naira Meltdown
Dangote’s Billion-Dollar Nightmare: Nigeria’s Richest Man on the Brink of Default Amid Naira Meltdown
According to a report, Nigeria’s business titan and Africa’s wealthiest individual, Aliko Dangote, is allegedly confronting a billion-dollar nightmare as he stands perilously close to defaulting on his staggering debts amidst a tumultuous Naira meltdown.

With an overdue biannual payment of $384 million, accumulating over six months until June 30, 2023, Dangote’s financial empire hangs in the balance, raising fears of a cataclysmic default.

Compounding Dangote’s woes is the freefall of the Nigerian Naira’s exchange rate, plunging to 770 Naira/1 USD under the newly implemented FX regime.

This has transformed the half-year loan repayment, amounting to nearly 295 billion Naira at the prevailing market rates, into an insurmountable mountain.

Despite seeking leniency through appeals to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for special rates, Dangote has been met with indifference and directed to navigate the open market in line with the new FX policy.

The dire situation is further aggravated by the ongoing incarceration of the CBN governor by the Department of State Services (DSS) due to a clandestine $1 billion loan from the Afrexim Bank.

Panic has begun to grip Nigerian banks as Dangote’s imminent default looms large. The gravity of the circumstances is compounded by the hasty commissioning of the incomplete Dangote Refinery in May 2023.

While Dangote’s company has claimed that the refinery would be fully operational by July, industry experts and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) have yet to substantiate these assertions.

Nevertheless, the NNPC granted the refinery a substantial crude oil allocation of 300,000 barrels per day, based on their 2021 cash plus crude investment agreement.

Concerns deepen as it remains uncertain whether the Dangote Refinery has truly commenced receiving crude oil since its purported initiation in June.

The predicament has placed the NNPC in a difficult position, with the possibility of 30% of Nigeria’s modest one million barrels per day crude oil production being channeled into a non-operational refinery.

Doubts regarding the status of the refinery were amplified by a recent leaked viral video, posted by refinery construction workers, revealing that the facility is far from completion.

At the helm of the nation’s leadership, President Bola Tinubu confronts the task of determining the fate of this precarious arrangement.

As tension escalates and uncertainty proliferates, the world watches with rapt attention as Dangote’s colossal financial empire teeters on the precipice, poised to reshape Nigeria’s economic landscape in the process.

Chelsea Desperate to offload one of Todd boeyly big signing by SamAko1(m) : 9:45 pm On Jul 08, 2023

Chelsea 'Desperate' To Offload One of Todd Boehly Big Signing After Disappointing Season
Chelsea is reportedly open to the idea of selling Raheem Sterling, their high-profile signing from last season.

Sterling, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Manchester City for a fee of £47.5m, could be on his way out if the right offer comes along.

The winger was Todd Boehly’s first major signing as Chelsea co-owner with hopes that his addition would bolster the squad.

However, the team’s performance fell short, finishing the season in 12th place despite Sterling’s contribution as one of the joint-top scorers alongside Kai Havertz, both netting nine goals.

In an attempt to balance the books and avoid Financial Fair Play sanctions, Chelsea is reportedly considering offers for Sterling.

Football Insider suggests that there is interest in the player from Premier League clubs, European clubs, and even Saudi Arabia.

Chelsea has already sold players such as Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly to Saudi Arabian clubs, while N’Golo Kante departed on a free transfer.

It remains to be seen if Sterling would consider a move to the Saudi Professional League, as he may still have much to offer in the Premier League.

The asking price for Sterling, who is contracted until 2027, is yet to be determined. At 28 years old, he may not have anticipated his future being in question so soon after leaving Manchester City.

However, if he were to remain at Chelsea, he would miss out on European competitions next season.

The upcoming season will be crucial for Sterling as he aims to secure a prominent role in the England national team for Euro 2024. Consistent form at the club level will be essential, and his destination remains uncertain.

Sterling’s recent comments about Chelsea’s new head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, suggest that he may be willing to stay at the club.

In an interview with Arab News, Sterling praised Pochettino’s leadership qualities and stated that he is the type of manager the team needs.

“He will bring leadership. He will challenge players physically and mentally.

“I feel he is going to come here and he is going to have the personality that everyone is going to respect.

“That’s what we need, someone in charge.

“From his time before at Tottenham, I heard a conversation about him and he’s the exact person we need.”

As the transfer window progresses, it remains to be seen whether Sterling will be part of Chelsea’s future plans or if he will move on to new opportunities. The decision could have significant implications for both the player and the club.

Do you think Chelsea will let Raheem Sterling stay ahead of next season? … Kindly share your opinions and concerns with us in the comment section below.

Lesson from ragman by SamAko1(m) : 11:08 pm On Jul 08, 2023

Bloomberg
In the backlash against textile waste, recycled wool is having a moment. Today’s newsletter goes on the ground with an Italian “ragman.” You can read and share a full version of this story on Bloomberg.com. For unlimited access to climate and energy news, please subscribe.

Giving wool a second life
By Aaron Clark and Flavia Rotondi

Mario Melani sits on a pile of folded blankets on the floor of a warehouse in Prato, Italy, surrounded by heaps of discarded wool sweaters and scarves. He deftly snips away buttons, zippers, embroidery and labels to strip the garments down to the cloth. It’s a critical step in the transformation of used wool into new fabrics, a tradition of textile makers in the Tuscan city that dates to the middle of the 19th century. “The alternative for all this would be the bin,” Melani says.

At 94, Melani has spent more than six decades working as a cenciaiolo, or ragman, a term that belies the local sense of pride in artisans like him. Prato counts more than 7,000 companies that specialize in some part of the city’s clothing and textile industries — of which wool recycling plays a major role — including the small family business Melani owns, F.lli Melani Sauro e Simone & C.

In Prato, making new fabric from used wool generally follows this process: The garments are manually stripped, and the scraps are mechanically shredded. Next, those fibers are blended by color to get the desired hue. After a carding machine untangles and aligns the fibers in one direction, the material is spun into yarn and undergoes quality tests before being woven on a loom into a textile.

Historically, the global recycling of wool has been driven by economic opportunity and necessity, such as during disruptions in the fleece trade. Now, environmental concerns are spurring demand for recycled wool as consumers seek out clothes made primarily of reused natural fibers instead of synthetic materials.

Wool accounts for only about 1% of global textile fiber production, so recycling it can’t offset the environmental impact of the fashion industry. Still, the wool recyclers’ approach offers a circular economy model that can be emulated. As part of its effort to combat climate change, the European Union last year adopted a strategy for sustainable and circular textiles that would set requirements for making fabric easier to recycle.

“We need stricter regulations in the industry. The final consumer must become more aware of where a garment comes from,” says Marco Mantellassi, who is co-chief executive officer of Manteco SpA, a third-generation, family-owned textile producer in Prato, with his brother Matteo. Manteco counts Kering SA and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE among buyers of fabrics it produces from its MWool-branded recycled wool.

Manteco says its recycled wool has a significantly lower carbon footprint than those of virgin wool and many other textiles. Producing a kilogram of its MWool generates 0.62 kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent, while the same amount of fleece sheared from a sheep creates 75.8kg of CO2e, the company says in its life-cycle assessment study. Cotton and polyester generate 4.69kg of CO2e and 4.31kg of CO2e, respectively, the company says, citing data from life-cycle inventory database provider Ecoinvent.

Identifying which materials are best for the environment isn’t straightforward, as the impacts of processes and supply chains aren’t always comparable. For example, while wool can be recycled mechanically, the more than 1 billion sheep involved in its production produce burps containing methane, a potent greenhouse gas.

“It’s not apples to apples,” Del Hudson, executive vice president of market impact for Worldly Holdings Inc., a technology platform that aggregates materials data for businesses to better understand the impacts of supply chains, said in an email.

To boost textile recycling, clothing designers and apparel brands need to communicate better about how to increase the circularity of materials and supply chains, says Hasnain Lilani, the founder of Karachi-based Datini Fibres, which sells recycled wool fibers that it extracts from used garments and also conducts research on the sustainability of materials. The company, started two years ago after Lilani had worked as a textile trader, currently recycles from 3,000 tons to 5,000 tons of wool garments per year and hopes to expand operations to 10,000 tons by 2024.

“The real sustainable solutions are coming from the material producers and recyclers working with raw materials and post-consumer products,” Lilani says. “Fashion brands need to listen and invest in the back-end for more sustainable supply chains.”

This week we learned
Earth keeps breaking temperature records. The average worldwide temperature reached 17.23C (63F) on Thursday, exceeding records hit on Monday and Tuesday.

Cutting airline emissions requires greener fuel. The energy intensity of commercial aviation is down 40% from two decades ago, but emissions are up 100% on increased demand.

Green bonds are beating fossil-fuel debt deals… Almost $350 billion was raised from green bond sales and loans in the first half of this year.

…but ESG bonds with “exit clauses” are raising alarms. A quarter of sustainability-linked bonds effectively provider the issuer with an “exit route if it expects to miss its target.”

Spain may be moving too fast on green energy. The country is ramping up $19.5 billion in investments to produce hydrogen from renewable power, but demand might not match supply.

Ten months ago, severe flooding killed over 1,700 people in Pakistan, displaced 8 million and cost the economy more than $30 billion. Now, with monsoon season fast approaching, thousands remain homeless and the country is struggling with rebuilding, food supply, health care and debt. Like other developing nations, Pakistan finds itself at the mercy of a pernicious pattern: Climate change is driving more rainfall, which drives more flooding, which stymies recovery from past floods.

Expanding EV options
There was a lot to like in Tesla Inc.’s latest quarterly numbers: The carmaker delivered 18,000 more vehicles than analysts were expecting, and over 43,000 more than in any previous quarter. But investors have questions. Like, what’s the toll of prioritizing growth over profitability? And how is Elon Musk planning to squeeze more sales out of Tesla’s two signature models?

The cavalry isn’t coming for the Model Y and Model 3 anytime soon, but the competition is heating up.

BYD Co., China's best-selling car brand, this week unveiled the Denza N7 SUV as part of its push into the premium sector. The model comes in six versions and has a starting price of 301,800 yuan ($41,680).

Lamborghini’s plug-in hybrid, the 1,015-horsepower Revuelto, is now sold out until the end of 2025, by which point the carmaker will only be making hybrids. Its first full EV is expected in 2028.

Stellantis has two new EVs on offer: the Fiat 600 SUV and an electric revamp of the 1930s Topolino. The SUV starts at €35,950 ($39,135), while the Topolino — Italian for “little mouse” — starts at €9,890.

China is the world’s factory, with the emissions to match. But in a planned economy with weak environmental regulation, can anyone take on pollution at that scale? On this week’s Zero, Akshat Rathi sits down with activist Ma Jun, whose maps of air and water pollution spurred climate conversation in China, and even government support.

How to get start business loan with no money by SamAko1(m) : 2:03 am On Jul 10, 2023

If you have a business dream but zero capital, don’t fret. The financial world is teeming with opportunities, including the possibility of getting a startup business loan without any money on hand.

When starting a business, financing is often one of the initial challenges. Consider this an opportunity to hone your business vision and entrepreneurial skills.

During the process of pursuing a startup business loan, you’ll need to present a compelling story and a buttoned-up business plan to even get a hearing with a lender or investor. Read on to learn how business loans for startups work, whether you can get one without revenue and how to secure such a loan.

Are you in need of a financial boost for your Small Business?
Get the capital you need to reach your goals with a Small Business Loan. Select your state to get started today!
How does a startup business loan work?
Just like planting a seed requires water and sunlight, nurturing a startup requires capital. Startup business loans are specifically designed to provide this financial nutrient. They are loans offered by online lenders, traditional banks, investors and credit unions to aid entrepreneurs in launching their businesses.

The process usually involves presenting a detailed business plan, including financial projections, a loan application and potentially some collateral. The lender examines your plan, gauges the potential success of your venture and decides on the loan amount, interest rates and repayment terms. The specifics of this process can vary from lender to lender.

Once your loan has been approved and you’ve received the funds, the journey doesn’t end there. Now comes the crucial phase of putting that capital to work effectively. Here are some things to consider:

Stick to the plan: Ensure that you adhere to your business plan as much as possible. Remember, your loan was approved based on this plan. Deviating significantly from it can not only lead to business instability but also make it challenging to meet your repayment obligations.
Manage cash flow: Be meticulous with your cash flow management. With a loan to repay, you’ll need to have a firm grasp on your revenue and expenses so that your business can meet all its financial obligations.
Repayment strategy: Be disciplined about repayments. Defaulting on your loan can have severe consequences, including damage to your credit score, loss of collateral and potential bankruptcy.
Communicate with your lender: Keep open lines of communication with your lender. If you foresee any issues with repayment or if your business conditions change, it’s always better to discuss this proactively.
Can you get startup business loans with no revenue?
Yes, it’s entirely possible to secure a small business loan for a startup even with no current revenue or a poor credit score. Traditional financial metrics such as revenue and credit scores are indeed crucial for lenders, but in the case of startups, lenders understand that such indicators might not yet exist. Lenders may consider any combination of the following factors when deciding whether to lend to your startup:

The business plan: A well-articulated business plan serves as the backbone of your application. It demonstrates to lenders your understanding of the market and your competition. It should also lay out your strategy for attracting customers and beating out the competition. A lender pays particular attention to your financial projections, which outline your expected revenues, costs and profits.
Strength of the idea: Some lenders base their decision on the potential of your business idea. If your idea is innovative and caters to an unmet need in the market, lenders might see a higher chance of success and hence, a higher likelihood of loan repayment.
Personal credit score: If your business has no revenue or credit history, lenders often look at the personal credit score of the business owner. A good personal credit score can increase your chances of loan approval, as it signifies to lenders your history of responsible credit behavior.
Collateral: Lenders may also consider any assets that you can offer as collateral. These could be personal or business assets that the lender can claim if the loan isn’t repaid.
Personal guarantee: For startups with no revenue, lenders might ask for a personal guarantee. This means that if your business fails to repay the loan, you as the owner become personally liable.
Length of time in business: While startups by definition have a shorter history, the length of time you’ve been in operation can still play a role in the lender’s decision-making process. If you’ve been in business for a few months, this could indicate to lenders that you have some level of business acumen and stability. Even if you haven’t generated revenue yet, the fact that you’re still operational can be a positive sign. However, each lender will have their own threshold for how long a business needs to have been in operation before they’ll consider a loan.
If you already have a limited liability corporation (LLC) with some revenue to show, look into the best LLC business loans.

How to get a startup business loan with no money
With the right approach and careful planning, you can successfully navigate this process. Follow these practical steps when you’re ready to secure a startup business loan without any money:

1. Check the eligibility requirements of multiple business lenders
Every lender has unique requirements for a startup business loan. Some might require a minimum credit score, a guaranteed time in business or even specific financial statements. Review multiple lenders, from traditional banks to online lenders, and understand their specific terms before applying.

2. Decide which assets you may be able to offer the lender as collateral
If you’re applying for a loan with no money and no revenue, lenders will likely require collateral. This could be anything from personal property to future business earnings. Knowing what assets you can offer as collateral will not only enhance your application’s credibility but also expand your options when it comes to lenders.

3. Determine how much loan you can comfortably repay
Understanding your repayment capacity is vital. Consider your projected revenue, calculate your expenses and ascertain what size loan your business can handle. Remember, overextending yourself with a loan that’s too large can lead to financial stress and jeopardize your startup’s survival. You can always apply for an additional loan once you have some revenue to show lenders.

4. Carefully read over the loan terms and fine print
Take the time to pore over the fine print. Understand your interest rate, the repayment terms you must adhere to, and any penalties or fees attached to the loan. Some loans might come with variable interest rates that can significantly inflate your repayments over time. Others might have strict penalties for early repayments or late payments. Thoroughly understanding these terms can save you from costly surprises in the future.

5. Understand that you’ll likely have to sign a personal guarantee
In many cases, lenders require a personal guarantee when granting loans to startups. This means if your business defaults on the loan, you, as the business owner, become personally liable for repaying the debt. Before signing such a guarantee, consider the implications this could have on your personal finances and assets. While it’s an excellent way to get approval for your loan, it also increases your personal risk.

6. Weigh the benefits and risks of applying for a startup business loan
While a loan can give your startup the financial jumpstart it needs, it’s not without risks. You’ve got to balance the potential growth of your business and what it will mean to you financially against the obligation of loan repayments and the risk of default. Consider how the loan will impact your business’s cash flow and whether you can meet the repayment schedule even in less-than-ideal financial circumstances.

7. Have a detailed business plan ready
As a business owner, knowing how to write a business plan is an important skill. A robust, well-researched business plan can significantly improve your chances of approval. It should highlight the business’s potential profitability, target market, competition and a realistic projection of revenues and expenses. Financial projections, in particular, can demonstrate to lenders that you’ve thought through how you’ll use the loan and how you’ll generate enough revenue to repay it.

Alternative business funding options for startups with no current revenue
If traditional loans seem unattainable or unsuitable, other funding options might better fit your startup. Business credit cards, for instance, can provide short-term financing. Investors, whether they’re angel investors or venture capitalists, may be willing to finance your business in exchange for equity.

Crowdfunding and peer-to-peer lending platforms are also becoming increasingly popular. These platforms allow a large number of people to contribute small amounts towards your funding goal, often in exchange for product discounts or early access.

If you’re lucky enough to have family or friends with piles of cash sitting around, you might consider pitching your idea to them. Many businesses get their start through investors that have a personal relationship with the entrepreneur. Keep in mind what kind of terms you could offer and whether or not you’re willing to put your personal reputation and relationship on the line if your endeavor doesn’t work out the way you hope it will.

Lastly, personal loans can be used to fund a business, though this typically comes with higher interest rates and requires a strong personal credit score.

To summarize, be sure to weigh all your options, and consider the risks and benefits of each funding option, before making a decision.

Ten major reason why smart people has fewer friend by SamAko1(m) : 2:09 am On Jul 10, 2023

In Summary

They appear intimidating
They do not like getting involved in drama
They don’t have the fear of missing out
Friends are essential in our lives – we rely on them for company and support through different challenges and difficult times.

They also teach us some of the most valuable skills and lessons we need to live our lives.

While some of us have no problem making new friends in every situation, more competent people tend to have a smaller circle they keep close.

It might sound surprising but research actually suggests that having a close social circle is a sign of intelligence.

If you’re also wondering why intelligent people have fewer friends, here are a few possible reasons:

1) They Enjoy Solitude More Than Others
Smart people don’t have many friends because they don’t find socializing necessary. For them, it’s better to spend their time in solitude – reading alone in a corner, reflecting on their life, or pursuing their interests.

They sometimes spend time with the people they love, but it’s rare to see them in the company of many people.

Solitude also allows smart individuals to take their intellectual curiosity to the next level. With fewer distractions and interruptions, they’re free to focus and think about the complex concepts they’re interested in.

They study and contemplate ideas so they have a better understanding of the world around them.

Being alone is also necessary to unlock their creative potential. They use their time alone to reflect on their mistakes and analyze their own thought patterns more deeply.

2) They Appear Intimidating to Other People
People easily get intimidated whenever they hear of someone who’s capable and self-assured – like most intelligent individuals are. They often compare themselves to more brilliant people, which only throws them off because they might feel inferior to and overwhelmed by their presence.

It’s true that intelligent people are forces to be reckoned with since they’re not afraid of telling the truth or confronting others who are out of line, but they shouldn’t always be seen as threats.

Once you see past their intimidating aura, you may see a no-nonsense person worth investing time and effort in.

3) They Might Struggle With Their Social Skills
Although they’re highly intelligent, some smart people actually lack social skills. It’s difficult for them to connect with other people, especially if they have different hobbies, interests, or opinions.

For them, it’s hard to engage in small talk because they prefer in-depth conversations about things.

Another possible reason why intelligent people have problems socializing is that they think too much.

They often overthink what kind of things to say and they end up stuttering, unsure of their words, or just afraid of opening their mouths.

What smart people don’t often realize is that socializing and talking to other people aren’t situations solved by overthinking.

Once they realize that it’s all about spontaneously expressing their feelings, they’re bound to improve how they interact with others.

4) They Don’t Have a Fear of Missing Out
FOMO or the fear of missing out is the anxiety of not being in the know when it comes to certain events or experiences.

People who have FOMO often do everything they can to catch up with the latest news, but smart people don’t feel the need to do the same.

Highly intelligent people aren’t easily fascinated by the latest trends because they’re not interested in materialistic things.

They always consider their long-term goals instead of instant gratification.

Their brains don’t have time for meaningless chatter so they spend their time learning new things – even if it means they have to do it alone. I also used to have FOMO but I eventually realized that it’s impossible to keep up with everything at once.

Now, I just prefer to keep some friends close – catch up with them over a cup of coffee instead of being out partying with a bunch of people.

5) They Don’t Like Getting Involved in Drama
Intelligent people don’t like the unnecessary dilemma that comes with dramas, so you can’t find them involved in one.

They already have enough on their plate, so they don’t need any more stress from other people.

It’s often people with empty lives and deep insecurities who start drama with all the constant social media posts – shading other people, backstabbing their friends, stealing other people’s partners, and whatnot. Smart people like keeping their peace instead of going for a night out and possibly encountering drama. They choose to read a book or watch a movie in their own homes instead.

6) They’re Not Too Concerned About Public Opinion
Smart people aren’t too concerned about public opinion because they don’t feel the need to impress anyone.

They’re strong and independent, so they also feel comfortable in their own skin.

Unlike other people, they don’t feed off of the number of Twitter retweets or Instagram likes to feel good about themselves.

Highly intelligent people don’t care too much about trends because they’re already sure about the things they like, even if it’s not what others prefer. They’re happy as they are – and that’s what matters most.

Their habit of not conforming to the latest trends and other public opinions might make smart people seem like they’re alone, but they simply tend to be very individualistic. They know what they like, so they only derive less satisfaction than others do from participating in the latest fads.

7) They’re Extremely Cautious of Others
Smart people are usually quiet because they prefer sitting back and observing their environment instead of participating in what others do.

They’re extremely cautious of new people because they don’t like putting their time and trust into others who don’t deserve it.

Before letting someone new into their life, highly intelligent people ensure that they’re compatible first – especially in things that matter, like ideas, morals, and values.

In some instances, they even test the other person to see if they really care about them or if there’s another agenda behind their attempt to be close.

This habit of smart people might put others off, but being picky isn’t always a bad thing. They see through other people’s motives and they refuse to be part of shady schemes and stressful relationships.

8) They’re Too Focused on Their Goals
Although socializing has its own benefits for some successful people, there are also smart people who tend to be introverted.

For them, socializing and making new friends aren’t always necessary when reaching their goals.

Instant gratification and temporary fame only serve as delays, so they ignore them in favor of long-term goals.

Smart people have a deep-seated desire to accomplish something bigger than themselves.

Between partying out with friends on a Friday night or staying in to study for their classes, they almost always choose the latter. But that’s not to say that they don’t care about their friends – they appreciate the connections they have, but they have other things to prioritize to achieve their goals more quickly.

9) They Usually Have Different Opinions From Others
Most geniuses are loners because only a few people understand and accept them and their opinions.

Whenever they try talking to others, they only end up overexplaining things to the other person – which can be especially difficult for them if they’re not used to socializing.

Since they feel drained when talking to others, they simply avoid conversations and keep to themselves. Smart people also tend to overthink and contemplate the big questions in life instead of simply enjoying their lives the same way others do.

They may even be perceived as weird sometimes by people who don’t understand the way their minds work.

But having a different opinion from others isn’t always a negative thing.

Smart people just have a unique view of how the world works, which makes them a lot more open-minded than others.

10) They Tend to Listen More Than Talk
One of the common reasons why smart people have fewer friends than others is because they like to listen more than talk.

In a group of friends, it’s almost always the quietest one that turns out to be the genius.

Instead of participating in meaningless chatter, they simply observe and listen to others – only opening their mouths when their thoughts and feelings are asked.

People often socialize by sharing opinions and anecdotes. Since smart people listen more than talk, it’s not surprising that they rarely thrive in social situations.

They also have stories to share, but they still prefer to stay quiet and lie low before reacting to an incident.

In my group of friends, it’s also my smartest friend who’s also the most silent.

They’re quiet most of the time, but they still hang out with us whenever we invite them.

And when we have problems or arguments, they’re also the first person we rely on for advice.

PDP speak on suspension of Bukola saraki by SamAko1(m) : 4:06 pm On Jul 10, 2023

2023: Saraki Says Uyo Crowd Is A Great Message To Nigerians
The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to rumours about the alleged suspension of a former Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

Naija News gathered that the Kwara PDP described reports of the suspension of Saraki, a two-term former governor of the state, as unfounded.

In a communique issued after the State Working Committee (SWC) meeting in Ilorin, the party revealed that the reality is contrary to rumours making the rounds that the committee suspended Saraki.

The communique signed by the state party Chairman, Babatunde Mohammed, and the state Secretary, Abdulrazaq Lawal, noted that the rumours are being circulated by a group of people who aim to cause disharmony within the party.

It explained that the enlarged meeting called on June 1, 2023, to review the outcome of the 2023 general elections “was misconstrued or misrepresented by some disgruntled elements.”

The communique reads in parts: “We urge our party members and supporters to be calm and discountenance the purported rumoured suspension of our leader, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki, by the State Working Committee members as mischievously circulated by some people aimed at causing disharmony in the party.”

The party, therefore, appealed to members and supporters to be calm and discountenance the rumoured suspension of the former two-term governor of the state.

Why my marriage collapse, Jim Luke by SamAko1(m) : 4:09 pm On Jul 10, 2023

Jim Iyke
Ace Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke, has revealed that not only was he once married, the union he had crashed but not many people know about that part of his life. The father of three noted that he was the cause of his marriage failure.

While having a chat with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, the actor stated that his marriage failed due to the death of his mother. He stated that while grieving over his mother’s death he emotionally abandoned his partner who recently gave birth to his first son. Iyke further noted that he invested all the love he had in his child and ‘left his wife behind.’

He said, “I have had a failed marriage but nobody knows that. I have three kids. I caused my marriage to fail. I am not the type that would blame anybody for my mistakes. There is a saying, ‘to boss up, own up’, There is a part of me that would take the easier route out. Anytime I did anything mediocre in my life, I always did it when I was emotional because I am extremely proficient in being deliberate and being strategic about everything I do. Every time I failed; it was because I got emotional. I became mediocre then I appeal to the smaller man in me and the part that was not emotionally intelligent.”

In a part of his interview, he noted that due to his closeness with his mother, no one was willing to inform him about her death. He said, “When I lost my mother, I could not find my feet for years. There was a lifestyle, spiritual connection that I lost. It took them 72 hours to tell me that I had lost my mother. I just got out of an interview in London. There is always that one person in the family that is a deliverer of bad news. The person who does that in our family said he would not break the news to me because there is a great chance I would not make it.”

Speaking of how his mother’s demise affected his relationship with his wife and son, the multiple award-winning thespian stated, “Just when I was getting over it, my woman was pregnant with my first son. I had a quiet space, there was nobody around me to take care of me anymore. There was nothing all of a sudden and the grief hit me. The loss hit me and I could not sleep for days. I was irritated and was not the loving man she met.

“I am a goofball, forget the perception out there. I am the prankster of the family and the guy that starts the laugh at the most serious issue. They don’t even invite me to family meetings because I start with a joke then my father calls me to order. I lost my sense of humour, the lion in me and the leader in me. I just gave myself to the elements, so she suffered for that. I became an obsessive dad. I took everything in me to my son.

“I was changing diapers; I was the proper stay-home dad. I took everything to him and left her behind. I took all my love and attention and invested it in my son and left her behind. I was an excellent father and a woeful husband. They are white, they are not built like us. After a while, she said, I can’t find who I married. Then we parted as friends. I told her, ‘I am here but I am not here. There is no presence here. I don’t know what it would take me to heal and bring myself back here but if you want to wait for me I will appreciate it and if you can’t I will understand’. She said she can’t.”

Alleged certificate forgery, NYSC tender document against MBA to tribunal by SamAko1(m) : 3:45 pm On Jul 11, 2023

The Labour Party (LP) on Friday evening commenced its evidence against the election of Governor Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State.

The Labour Party (LP) on Friday evening commenced its evidence against the election of Governor Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State.

The governorship candidate of the party in the March 18, 2023, election, Chijioke Edeoga, filed the petition questioning Mba’s qualification for the election at the Enugu State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.

At the resumed hearing, the LP presented the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), as its first witness.

Among the documents tendered by the NYSC were the alleged forged discharge certificate as well as the original discharge certificate, which Mbah ought to have collected and a letter written by Oma and Partners, an Abuja-based law firm, which had asked the Corps to scrutinise the discharge certificate submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by the governor.

The petitioners, represented by Chief Adegboyega Awomolo, who is the lead counsel, alongside Dr. Valerie Azinge, Ifeanyi Ogenyi Esq, and others, led the Petitioners Witness 1 (PW1) in evidence.

The Petitioners Witness 1 is the Director of Certification, NYSC, Aliyu Abdul Mohammed, who adopted his written deposition on oath.

Awomolo sought to tender the witness’ deposition on oath as evidence before the tribunal.

The third respondent, PDP’s counsel, Anthony Ani, objected to the admissibility of the document and opted to move a motion dated and filed on July 7, 2023, which prayed the tribunal to strike out the written deposition on oath by the PW1 on the ground of incompetence.

The 1st respondent, INEC, as well as the 2nd respondent (Peter Mbah) aligned themselves with the submission of Ani and prayed the court to strike out the written deposition of the PW1 for lack of competence.

Relying on the Court of Appeal decision in the case of ANDP & Anor vs INEC, as well as that of Damina & Anor vs Adamu and others, the respondents’ counsels asked the court to strike out the written deposition on oath of the PW1 for lack of competence.

In response, the petitioners’ lawyers relying on the case of Ararume & Anor vs INEC, which according to them is a conflicting decision with the authorities cited by the respondents’ counsel, asked the court to admit the written deposition on oath by the PW1.

In a short ruling, the tribunal admitted the document and reserved ruling on the objections raised by the respondents for final judgment.

Mohammed told the tribunal that he acted on a subpoena served on the Director General of the NYSC or any other official to appear before the tribunal for the purposes of giving evidence to clear some issues bordering on the certificate purportedly issued by the agency.

The subpoena was admitted in evidence without objection from the respondents and was marked as exhibit PTC/01/06.

Mohammed also tendered his official identity card as a staff of NYSC, which was admitted in evidence and marked as exhibit PTC/01/07.

In paragraph three of the Petitioner’s Witness’ deposition on oath, the witness stated that in obedience to the subpoena by the tribunal, he came with the authentic discharge certificate of the governor, as well as the one purportedly given to him.

The respondent’s counsels objected to the admissibility of the documents and reserved their reasons for final written addresses.

The tribunal admitted the documents and marked them as exhibits PTC/ 01/08 a and b.

The petitioner also fielded another witness, an Abuja-based legal practitioner, Mary Nneoma Elijah, a principal partner in the law firm of Oma and Partners. She also adopted the subpoena of the tribunal dated June 21, 2023, which was admitted and marked as exhibit PTC/01/09.

The witness’ letter to INEC, as well as the reply given by INEC was sought to be tendered by the petitioner’s counsel amid objections from the respondent’s counsel.

However, the letters, as well as the discharge certificate were admitted and marked as exhibits PTC/01/11 a, b & c respectively.

Also, a letter addressed to the presiding justice of the Federal High Court, Lagos Division, for the production of the appointment letter dated July 14, 2003, appointing Mbah as the Chief of Staff to the then governor of Enugu State, Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani in the same year he (Mbah) claimed he was serving, was also admitted in evidence amidst objections and marked as exhibit PTC/01/13 a & b.

The matter was adjourned to Tuesday, July 11, 2023 for further hearing.

Why youths find it difficult to own a business by SamAko1(m) : 3:55 pm On Jul 11, 2023

Why youths find it difficult to own a business
There can be several reasons why youths find it difficult to own a business. Here are some common factors:

1. Lack of Experience: Starting and running a business requires a certain level of knowledge and experience. Many young entrepreneurs may not have had the opportunity to gain practical experience or acquire the necessary skills to run a business effectively. This lack of experience can make it challenging for them to navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship.

2. Limited Financial Resources: Starting a business often requires a significant amount of capital. Young people may struggle to access funding or have limited personal savings to invest in their business ventures. Banks and investors may be hesitant to provide funding to young entrepreneurs due to their limited financial track record or lack of collateral.

3. Risk Aversion: Starting a business involves taking risks and stepping into the unknown. Young people, especially those who have just entered the job market or are still studying, may be risk-averse due to their limited financial stability and fear of failure. The fear of financial instability or the potential negative consequences of failure can discourage them from pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors.

4. Limited Network and Connections: Building a strong professional network is crucial for business success. Young entrepreneurs may not have had enough time to establish a robust network of contacts in the industry they wish to enter. Without access to mentors, advisors, or a supportive community, they may face challenges in finding guidance, support, and opportunities.

5. Balancing Education and Entrepreneurship: Many young entrepreneurs are simultaneously pursuing their education while trying to start a business. This dual commitment can be demanding and time-consuming, making it difficult to dedicate sufficient attention and resources to their entrepreneurial pursuits.

6. Regulatory and Legal Hurdles: Starting and operating a business involves compliance with various regulations and legal requirements. Young entrepreneurs may be unfamiliar with these processes and find it challenging to navigate the bureaucratic procedures, licensing, and other legal aspects of setting up a business.

Despite these challenges, it’s important to note that many young entrepreneurs have successfully overcome these obstacles and built thriving businesses. With the right support, mentorship, resources, and perseverance, young people can overcome these difficulties and achieve their entrepreneurial goals.

Aboki FX back as Emiefele hold goes by SamAko1(m) : 4:48 pm On Jul 12, 2023

Abokifx and Emefiele
Abokifx, an online platform that collates exchange rates, has come back with its live exchange rate publication, as Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)’s hold eases.

The online forex trading platform suspended its operations after the CBN placed its owners on investigations.

On abokifx, one dollar was quoted at N790 and N795 for buying and selling respectively, as of Monday July 10, 2023. The platform displayed Pounds rate at N1,005 and N1,015 for buying and selling respectively on the same day. Euro was trading at the buying rate of N845 and selling rate of N850 also as of Monday.

BusinessDay gathered that abokifx resumed operation following the suspension of Emefiele by President Bola Tinubu and the collapse of the various foreign exchange window into the Investors and Exporters (I&E) forex window, last month.

In September 2021, Olusegun Adedotun Oniwinde, owner of abokifx, faced the CBN’s harmer due to illegal foreign exchange trading.

Emefiele said after the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting in September 2021 that Oniwinde used his website for forex manipulations and speculations by purchasing forex to make a profit, saying he was an illegal forex trader.

Oniwinde is a chartered accountant from South Ockendon Essex. He was born in September 1975. He registered the company in the UK in 2015 as a sole owner but also there are other significant owners, which include Boaz Associates Limited, Esther’s Limited, ES Merchant Limited and Abokifx, a company he founded six years ago.
As at January 2020, he had ownership of shares from 75 – 100 percent and had the right to remove and appoint directors.

He is British and resident in England with his family. Companies associated with Olusegun had at least £2,002 shareholder value and £28,087 cash in recent accounts.
“Some Nigerians do not give CBN any benefit of doubt at all. They simply believe all we do here is hunt people down. They forget that there are many unscrupulous actors in the economy,” the CBN said.

Super Eagles Will Win 2023 AFCON –Awoniyi
Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi says he’s optimistic Nigeria has the right mentality and quality to win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Recall that Nigeria sealed qualification for the tournament with a game to spare after defeating Sierra Leone 3-2 last month.

The Super Eagles have won the tournament three times and were eliminated in the Round of 16 by Tunisia at the last edition of the competition hosted by Cameroon.

However, in an interview with Channels Television, Awoniyi said that he’s confident will be champions again in Ivory Coast.

“I think everyone in the squad is happy; the first stage is to qualify for the AFCON which we did already, then the next stage now is just to try everything possible to win the AFCON, which is the target for the country,” Awoniyi told Channels Television.

“The last one was an experience, I was there and we are happy we are there again and of course, we want to go there and we want to win the trophy for sure.”

Question men shouldn't ask women by SamAko1(m) : 4:55 pm On Jul 12, 2023

Womanhood is not simple. We must contend with the pressure to achieve goals at a specific age and live up to societal standards in many aspects of our lives....CONTINUE READING

We are constantly under pressure to organize our lives, including our careers and families since we are constantly reminded that our biological clock is ticking.

Managing these tensions is not a simple task. When we are questioned about particular aspects of our lives regularly, it gets tiresome and hurtful.

These are a few of the inquiries.

Why Did You Break Up?

Do not meddle in someone else’s affairs if they are not at ease enough to tell you what transpired in their relationship.

It’s impolite and hurtful. They have a justification for keeping it a secret from you. They may be living with stress, loss, and/or rage and don’t need to be reminded of their suffering.

Let’s be considerate of others’ boundaries and satisfied with the information they provide.

Without continually being questioned about their single status, people want to get on with their lives.

Your weight has increased; what are you eating?

I’ve never known why women are so obsessed with other women’s bodies. Of course, this is a rhetorical question, but if someone has gained weight, I think they are well aware of it and don’t need a reminder.

After a while, someone will come across you and inquire as to what size you are now wearing. Some people will even go so far as to inquire about your ability to finish the food on your plate and even make recommendations about increasing your intake of fruits and vegetables.

Unless they specifically inquire about weight gain. Losing weight, is it? When you have lost weight as a result of a medical issue, this hurts more.

How many people have you slept with?

Nobody deserves to be asked this question, in my opinion.

It offends me, is inappropriate, and is unnecessary. It appears that most people use this to determine your worth.

If you say 100, I assume the guy on a date will swallow a fork or flee for his life.

Body count should not be used to predict whether or not a person will be able to commit to one person.

If a man is genuinely interested in a woman, he should not be concerned about her history or the number of men she has previously dated.

Someone said that they shouldn’t be asked for their body count because they lost track. So, whether 1 or 200, a woman is more than her body count.....CONTINUE READING

When Are You Getting Children?

You may ask this question out of concern and care, but the receiver may not appreciate it.

Getting pregnant may appear to be a simple task, but for some women, it is not. Some people are unable to have children as a result of a medical condition or infertility.

Those who have tried and failed to conceive for a long time.

Those who choose not to have children and those who are not ready, perhaps because they want to focus on their career or are uncertain about the timing.

This is a delicate subject that should be handled with care, especially if you are speaking with someone whose life you are unfamiliar with.

Don’t take it for granted that everyone has it easy or that everyone adores children. Inquiring about someone’s plans to have another child is intrusive.

You may end up hurting them, especially if you are unaware that they have lost a baby.....CONTINUE READING

11 things you are doing wrong when you are shower by SamAko1(m) : 4:58 pm On Jul 12, 2023

As a daily part of our lives, showering seems to be a simple and straightforward task. However, according to various experts, there are many things we are doing wrong and that may be harmful to our skin and health. Here are 11 things you are doing wrong when you shower.

1. Taking too long: While a long shower can be relaxing, it can be damaging to your skin. Hot water strips the skin of its natural oils, causing dryness, itching, and even eczema….CONTINUE READING

2. Showering too frequently: Frequent showers can also cause dryness and damage to the skin’s protective barrier. Experts recommend limiting showers to once a day and every other day if possible.

3. Not using the right water temperature: Lukewarm water is the ideal temperature for showering. Hot water can damage skin and cold water can cause the pores to tighten, leaving skin feeling dry and tight.

4. Using harsh soaps: Soaps with high pH levels, fragrances, and chemicals can cause damage to the skin’s protective barrier. Look for soaps with mild ingredients, such as glycerin or oatmeal.

5. Not rinsing properly: Leaving soap or shampoo on the skin can cause irritation and dryness. Make sure to rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

6. Scrubbing too hard: Using a loofah or scrubber too aggressively can cause tiny tears in the skin, leading to inflammation and irritation. Instead, use gentle, circular motions to clean the skin.

7. Using a dirty bath towel: Towels can harbor bacteria and germs, especially when left damp. Make sure to wash towels frequently and let them dry completely between use.

8. Not moisturizing afterwards: After showering, skin is at its most absorbent, making it the perfect time to apply moisturizer. Look for fragrance-free, gentle moisturizers to soothe and protect the skin.

9. Not showering after exercising: Sweat and bacteria can build up on the skin after a workout, leading to acne and skin irritation. Make sure to shower and wash workout clothes after exercising.

10. Using hot water on your hair: Hot water can damage the hair, causing it to become dry and brittle. Instead, use lukewarm water and finish with a cool rinse to seal the cuticle and promote shine.

11. Skipping the shower cap: Shower caps can protect the hair from being exposed to water and steam, which can cause damage and frizz. Make sure to use a shower cap to protect hair during showering or bathing.

In conclusion, taking a shower seems like a simple task, but there are many things we are doing wrong that can harm our skin and health. By following these tips and adopting healthy showering habits, we can keep our skin and hair healthy and glowing…..CONTINUE READING
