Governor Nyesom Wike has paid the police the N30 million bounty he placed on a criminal suspect popularly called Bobosky.
Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Tammy Danagogo presented the N30 million cheque to Police Commissioner Joseph Mukan on behalf of the Governor in Port Harcourt yesterday September 17.
Danagogo reiterated the Wike's administration's resolution to continue working for the safety of residents of the state.
He said;
“Governor Wike will continue to stand by his words, as this is not the first time such redemption is occurring in the state. If we can recall when the governor made a promise over Don Wani, a criminal who disturbed the peace of ONELGA, all security agencies and citizenry were activated to capture him, and the pledge was also redeemed.
“I thank the police officers for the gallantry in arresting the criminals and I also thank the informants who cannot be mentioned here."
The Police Commissioner, Mukan thanked Wike for fulfilling his promise while recalling how the police had sleepless night and exhibited a high level of professionalism throughout the operation that led to the arrest of Bobosky.
131 new cases of Coronavirus were recorded in Nigeria on Thursday September 17 as confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

A 37-year-old farmer, Ephraim Kadiri, pictured above, has been arrested by men of the Gombe state police command for allegedly killing an Okada rider and selling off his motorcycle in Billiri, a community in the state.
The state Commissioner of Police, Shehu Maikudi, who paraded the suspect before newsmen on Thursday, September 17, said the suspect was arrested in a hotel he lodged after selling off the motorcycle.
“He (Kadiri) was the one, who almost caused mayhem for us yesterday (Wednesday) in Billiri after killing a commercial motorcyclist and stealing his motorcycle.
Restive youths in Billiri thought we were not doing enough and attempted to attack the police station. We had to deploy our men there; the Area Commander had to speak to the youth as well as engage the stakeholders in the town to calm the situation.
Policemen were later deployed to Cham, where the suspect was arrested in a hotel, but he had sold the motorcycle at Laraban Lamurde.”the Commissioner said
The police chief also paraded a 21-year-old SS3 pupil, Babayo Yahaya, who was allegedly caught with 107 tramadol capsules and 59 sachets of Exole and N400,000 used to bribe the police.
“Babayo Yahaya was arrested based on credible intelligence. Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to be a dealer in illicit substances for over two years in Gombe and environs,” Yahaya said

The troll who claimed that Seyi’s husband is impotent, accused the actress of snatching her partner from her ‘boss’.

Air Force Two was forced into an emergency landing while carrying US Vice President, Mike Pence.
The plane was forced to return to a New Hampshire airport shortly after taking off for Washington D.C. on Tuesday night.
According to CNN, the vice president was leaving the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport when the jet hit a bird.
Officials with Manchester-Boston Regional Airport confirmed the incident in a statement, saying: " Air Force 2 experienced a possible bird strike shortly after departure. Flight crew contacted the tower and returned to MHT safely. MHT rescue/firefighting were at staging areas per our response protocols. No impact to the airfield, we remain in full operation."

Mrs Regina Fani-Kayode (nee Hanson-Amonoo), the legal wife of a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, says the ex-minister has never abused her in their 23 years of marriage.
She said this during a telephone interview with The PUNCH on Monday in reaction to allegations that Fani-Kayode abused his estranged wife, Precious Chikwendu.
Regina, who is a Ghanaian, said she got married to Fani-Kayode based on Ghanaian customs in 1997 and they subsequently tied the knot at the Apapa Registry in Lagos in 2002.
She said, “We have a beautiful daughter called Oluwaremilekun and both she and I are very proud of him. He has been a wonderful father and caring husband and he has never subjected me to any form of domestic abuse or treated me badly.
“Reports in the media that we are divorced are fake and suggestions that I was treated in a bad way by him or subjected to any form of abuse at any time in the 23 years that we have been married are malicious and false.”
When asked if she was aware of Fani-Kayode’s relationship with Precious that produced four sons, she responded in the affirmative, adding that she approved of it.
Regina stated that she had relocated to Ghana and that a monogamous relationship would have been difficult for her husband hence she gave him her blessing to take another wife.
She, however, said her husband did not commit bigamy as he did not marry Precious legally but traditionally.
Precious, who is a beauty queen, recently separated from Fani-Kayode amid rumours of domestic violence.

Laycon speaking to Nengi on Tuesday said he is scared of trolls on social media and those who would say hurtful things about him.
Laycon said; “I’m scared of trolls trying to say hurtful things about me and those I care about when we get out of here on Sunday.”
Nengi on the other hand advised Laycon to develop a tough skin, adding that she’s gone through a lot of experiences and was used to handling such situations.

Nigerian TV show host and comedienne, Helen Paul is reportedly taking a postdoctoral study in an undisclosed university in America.
The Nation reported that Helen Paul is on the verge of becoming a professor barely a year after emerging Nigeria’s first popular stand-up comedienne to bag a Doctorate Degree. Recall that the comedienne completed her Ph.D programs in Theatre Arts from the University of Lagos in 2019.
A source told the publication;
“Yes, Helen Paul has been shuttling between Nigerian and the US for some months now. While studying to become a Professor, she is also working as a lecturer in one of the institutions in the US.
