TOPIC: THE WORST VIRUS: COMPARING YOURSELF TO THEM!

BASIC SCRIPTURE:
2 CORINTHIANS 10:10-18

Today’s scripture, Vs. 12 says: “For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.” Did you get that? As 2020 ends, NEVER COMPARE YOURSELF TO ANYONE! Refuse to envy them! Accept yourself for who you are! Accept that there are things that are beyond your control. Accept the things you cannot change! Stop wishing you were like others! Jordan Peterson said: “Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today.” Change the object of comparison to yourself. the urge to compare is too strong to ignore, measure yourself against yourself because God has different CALENDARS for different people! Life is like an exam in which we all have different question papers! Once you COPY others, you FAIL.

The more you desperately want to be like someone else or others, the more unworthy you feel! The more you desperately want to be happier, the lonelier you become, despite the awesome people surrounding you. The key to the good life you really need is refusing to dwell on the negative about yourself! Those you are envying are also fighting their battles and carrying their crosses. COMPETE WITH YOURSELF! As 2020 ends, declare daily things like, “| want to be better than I was yesterday” and your mind will start presenting you with new information, derived firom your previously hidden self, to aid you in your new pursuit to become a better YOU! Coronavirus is deadly; but really the worst virus is comparing yourself to others! If you have been infected with the COMPARISON VIRUS (I call it, “COMPARIVID-19” VIRUS), quickly go to an isolation center (alone with God) and practice social distancing (Stop seeing/looking at others because THERE WILL BE SOMEONE WHO IS AHEAD OF YOU IN LIFE)! You don’t grow green grass by focusing on your neighbor’s garden; you do it by nurturing your own! Learn and move on from that deadly virus “COMPARIVID – 19.” I shall see you at the top! Amen!

TOPIC: CONNECT TO CONNECTORS! CHECK YOUR CONNECTION!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 27: 1-10

Judas committed suicide when he failed to connect! STAYING AROUND A PERSON DOES NOT SIGNIFY CONNECTING to that person. There are lots of people around you who may not be CONNECTED TO YOU, If you place a LOOSE CABLE around a socket, no POWER is activated. Until that CABLE is properly CONNECTED, there can be no POWER FLOW OR TRANSFER! Such is also the story of our lives! Many people can stay around a blessed man/woman and all they get as harvest is BITTER WATER because they are not PROPERLY CONNECTED! That means: they are physically with you but their HEARTS ARE WITH SOMEONE ELSE or their MOTIVES ARE NOT YOUR MOTIVES! They may be physically with you but your VISION is not their VISION! They may be running a race with you but their DESTINATION is not your DESTINATION! That means they are LOOSELY CONNECTED to you and that can BLOCK POWER FLOW or BLESSING TRANSFER! Gehazi was with Elisha but he was only LOOSELY CONNECTED! He was SHOCKED to SHAME and DISGRACE by the same DIVINE CABLE he had helped others to connect to. He ended up With LEPROSY instead of a NEW DANCE of DOUBLE WONDERS! Elisha was however PROPERLY CONNECTED to Elijah and that was why he had a DOUBLE FLOW OF DIVINE CURRENT (the anointing) as his harvest! Wow! Some people get a curse and others get a blessing from association depending on HOW CONNECTED they are! That means THEIR MOTIVES and their LOYALTY to begins that GRACE and POWER SOURCE! As 2020 ends and 2021 begins, use today’s devotional to CHECK YOUR CONNECTION TO THE LORD! IS IT LOOSED OR TIGHT? Are you using the Lord just for miracles or are you CONNECTED to Him for the sake of LOVE FOR HIM (HOT KINGDOM DIVINE ROMANCE). Many people sow and they don’t see results because their MOTIVES are wrong! Your first motive in any seed you sow should be BECAUSE YOU LOVE HIS KINGDOM! BASIC SCRIPTURE: ISAIAH 38:1 - 8

Many years ago, somewhere in America, someone asked God for help in an unusual manner (prayed an unusual prayer) and got an unusual answer. Mykehia Curry, an 18 year-old student from Georgia who had a poor family background took student loans to pay for her tuition and housing at Albany State University. Her mother co couldn’t afford her fees because of her state of health; neither could her grandmother. This young lady needed some money for Some things she needed to buy for her first time of living away from home, but the money was not in sight. With little hope where the money could come from, she did the unusual. Just days before she was scheduled to leave for school, she asked God for help. She wrote a note, tied it to three helium balloons that were released during her grandmother’s birthday celebration and let them go. She wrote, the following, “God, please help me get the rest of my stuff for college. Amen. love you God.” The balloons flew 15 miles northeast and carried the note to Gray, Georgia where a Baptist minister, Jerome James, found it while he was out doing a job. He said, ” I saw something shiny and floating, so I walked over there and I got it and it was balloons with a note tied to it. They floated all night and they landed right in my hands; I mean, practically” He called Curry and offered to buy her all that she needed. Today, Curry has become the first member of her family to go to college. Oh, what an unusual way to pray, and what an unusual answer to a prayer! In today’s scripture, King Hezekiah prayed an unusual prayer in an unusual way; he turned his face towards a wall and asked God to lengthen his days despite the prophecy of Prophet Isaiah. Though he later abused that breakthrough, God answered him in an unusual manner by turning back the Sun by ten degrees.

As 2020 ends, I pray that God will answer you in an unusual way! EXPECTA DIVINE SURPRISE! Curry found help from someone she never knew or met! TOPIC: THE JONATHAN GENERATION!

BASIC SCRIPTURE:
1 SAMUEL 23: 7 - 17

Jonathan understood and believed that David was destined to be king of Israel and that nothing could upset God’s plan Incredibly, Jonathan revealed that deep down, Saul realızed it too (1 Samuel 23:17), So, Saul and his son Jonathan were in two different spiritual generations! Notice these particular words of Jonathan: “You shall be king over Israel, and I shall be next to you” (25:17). Incredible! Jonathan, heir to Saul’s throne, was content to take second place beside David. No wonder Imam All opined: “TWO things define you. Your patience when you have nothing, and your attitude when you have everything.” However, Jonathan died shortly after those golden words. But Who Knew what God had in store? We know that David, when resurrected at christ’s return, will again reign as king over Israel (Ezekiel 37:24). And it appears that Jonathan, by the amazing character he displayed and the deep closeness and fellowship he shared with the spiritually- minded David, may himself have been one of the few in the Old Testament period who, like David, received God’s Spirit before it was given more generally in New Testament times.

If so, then Jonathan too will be in the first resurrection with David. Then, might he not at last stand next to David, assisting him in ruling over Israel? That would perhaps, give Jonathan’s words a prophetic manifestation! Whether or not his words were inspired, this scenario as a fulfillment of them remains an interesting possibility/reasoning even among theologians. But let it be known that there is a generation that is not mad at taking second place in order for peace to reign. This generation of souls are not half-baked believers! They don’t fight for positions in church! They don’t get Jealous over who gets the credit or over who is anointed! All they desire is the PROGRESS OF THE KINGDOM. Do you belong to that generation or are you in the generation of SAUL who can even kill unless they get what they want? Oh! Catch this: A great man is always willing to be little! Hear Jackson Brown Jr: ” Every person that you meet knows something you don’t; learn from them.” Then the wise Rabindranath Tagore quipped: “We come nearest to great when we are great in humility.” May that be your pursuit daily as 2020 ends and 2021 begins! TOPIC: PAUL RYAN: KNOW YOUR ROOTS

BASIC SCRIPTURES: PHILIPPIANS 1-6;
1 PETER 2: 9-10

Paul Ryan was once the speaker of the United States House
of Representatives. He represents Wisconsin’s first Congressional District and is the 54th House Speaker. Henry Louis Gates Jnr., a Harvard scholar, features in a Television show called “Find Your Roots”. In that programme, the Harvard scholar helps people to find their roots. In an episode of the programme, Gates decided to trace Ryan’s heritage to his 10th great grandfather who was born in 1531 The search discovered that Ryan is 3% Ashkenazi Jewish! The Ashkenazi Jews simply called Ashkenazi are a Jewish ethnic group who had their earliest ancestors from the indigenous tribes of Israel. Research shows that the origin of the matrilineal line of the Ashkenazi Jews comes from Europe. Ashkenazi was one of the 3 sons of Gomer; whereas Gomer was one of the sons of Japheth, who was born of Noah (Genesis 10: 1-3). Ryan, who is a fifth-generation Wisconsinite, was born to a father of Irish descent and a mother who is both German and English. Somebody from his mothers German lineage had married a Jew somewhere and sometime, along the line, thus giving Ryan a Jewish heritage or bloodline. In the words of Louis Gates, “We don’t know who that Jewish person was, but we know it was his mothers German line, which makes sense. So somebody who was a Christian German slept with a Jewish German person and that’s where that came from.” Wow! As 2020 ends, the Holy Ghost wants you to be reminded that your root is the ROCK of Ages! Prophet Isaiah wrote, “Hearken unto me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock from whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged. Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you,..” (Isaiah 51: 1-2). That ROCK is the UNDEFEATABLE and UNBEATABLE Jehovah God and since you carry His seed, you are more UNBEATABLE (1 John 4:4). Apostle Paul knew his roots! In humility but with boldness, he declared, “Circumcised the eight day, of the stock of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews,.. as touching the law, blameless” (Philippians 3:5-6). When you know your roots, then you don’t quit battles and you know that DELAYS are not DENIALS! When you know your roots, then you will tell the devil daily: “ALL THINGS WILL WORK OUT FOR MY GOOD.” When you know your roots, then you know 1 Peter 2:9 – YOU ARE A PECULIAR PERSON who can never end up in SHAME! WOW!

TOPIC: HE HAS PASSED THROUGH THE UNIVERSITY!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: HEBREWS 5: 1 - 8

Today’s scripture says in Vs. 8: “Though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered.” Jesus as God did not need to leam obedience because ALL POWERS/men OBEY HIM! But when He became FLESH and blood, He now needed to LEARN HOW TO OBEY” the heavenly FATHER, His earthly parents whom He created, human governments run by those He created and He had to learn to obey the natural laws of hunger, sleep, cold, heat, etc. Remember that before He came to this earth through MARY, HE NEVER knew hunger, cold, heat, neither did He sleep nor slumber! Wow! So, the Word says one of the various ways He was taught obedience was through “the UNIVERSITY OF SUFFERING” Ah! As 2020 ends, refuse to allow depression or sorrow to capture you because your “ELDER BROTHER” and your HlGH PRIEST has passed through that same campus of SUFFERINGS AND CHALLENGES! Every challenge is a university you must pass through to your land of elevation and greatness! Sometimes those battles that challenge you the most, teach you the best! It is greater by the grace of God to RUN OVER challenges than to RUN FROM them!

Paulo Coelho said: “When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change.” Yes! When you face difficult times, know that challenges are sent to promote, increase and strengthen you! In each challenge, always say to yourself: WELCOME TO A NEW COURSE IN THE UNIVERSITY OF SUFFERING! I SHALL GRADUATE WITH HONOURS AND DISTINCTION! I SHALL NOT QUIT.” Refuse to cry because your God who is the PRO-CHANCELLOR/FOUNDER of that university will never allow you to end up in shame! Catch this: Running away from any problem or complaining/depression, etc, only increases the distance from the solution. TOPIC: THE BERMUDA ROGUE WAVES: LORD, CALM THE STORMS!

BASIC SCRIPTURE:
LUKE 8:19 - 25

Welcome as we visit the popular BERMUDA TRIANGLE again! The Bermuda triangle is an infamous body of water in the western part of the Atlantic Ocean. it stretches some 700,000 Square km (approximately 270,271 square miles) between Florida, Bermuda and Puerto Rico. Also known as, THE DEVIL’S TRIANGLE, the area features multiple shipping lanes and it has claimed over 1,000 lives in the past 100 years. In 1918 the huge vessel, THE CYCLOPS, went missing in the triangle clamming some 300 lives. The cause of these deaths has remained a mystery. However, experts at the University of Southampton in Britain believe they have solved the Bermuda triangle mystery. They believe the mystery can be explained by a natural phenomenon known as rogue waves. They believe that”rogue waves could be the reason why many boats sank in the mysterious triangle. Rogue waves last only a few minutes and can measure up to 30 metres (approximately). They were first observed by satellites in 1997 off of South Africa. They are formed when massive storms come together from different directions. Dr. Simeon Boxall, an ocean and art scientist, said that the infamous Bermuda triangle can see three massive storms coming together from different directions; that is a perfect condition for a rogue wave. According to him, such a surge in water could snap a boat, such as Cyclops. The bottom line of this is, waves, no matter the name they go by, are forces of destruction! There can be no better scriptural example, than what the disciples experienced when they were with the Lord in the boat and the shipwreck that the Apostle Paul suffered after he encountered a tempestuous wind called “Euroclydon” (Acts 27:14). The movement of waves can be likened to valleys and hills before us. The good news is seen in today’s scripture:” Every valley shall be filled and every mountain and hill shall be brought low, and the crooked shall be made straight and the rough waves shall be made smooth” (Verse 5). As 2020 ends, THE ROUGH WAVES shall be made smooth! I decree: Any “BERMUDA ROGUE WAVE in your life, family and ministry, must be brought low! I command every storm to be still now in Jesus name! There is this story a great man of God told us when we were in Service sometime in 2017. The story was about a young lady Who was a student in one of the universities in South West Nigeria. The university was hit by acute water shortage such that inhabitants of the university community could not get water to do their formal chores. The young Christian lady was pressed on one of the water scarcity days and needed to go to the toilet badly to relieve herself. She went’ to the first toilet and discovered that it had been badly messed up and was not even finished. Human faeces was visibly loaded in it. She rushed out and couldn’t use it. She went to another and met it in the same condition and couldn’t use it. As she went from toilet to toilet, she found none that she could use. Meanwhile, this young woman had been praying to God to use her so when she couldn’t use any of the toilets, the Lord asked her “Why can’t you use the toilets?” She said to God; “they are too dirty.” The Lord then said to her, “Do you know why I can’t use you; you are too dirty.” Wow! Verses 20-21 of today’s scriptüre says: “But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver but also of wood and earth, and some to honor and some to dishonor, If a man, therefore, purges himself from thee, be shall be a vešsel unto, honor, sanctified, and meet for the masters use, and prepared unto every good work.” Isaiah 6:8 says: “Also I heard the voice of the LORD, saying; “Whom shall I send and “who will go for Us?…” , as 2020 ends and 2021 begins, there is a question to answer, “Can God use you? If your answer is “NO. then you have work to do.

American brain specialist, said this very recently: “No child under the age of 18 should be heading the ball in soccer. I know this is very difficult for many people but science evolves. Society changes. I believe, eventually, at the professional level, we will restrict the heading of the ball. The human brain floats like a balloon inside your skull, so when you head the ball you suffer brain damage.”

Dr Omalu made the above statement following his discovery of how American footballers suffer from a brain disease called “Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). His discovery arose from his autopsy of former Pittsburgh player, Steeler Mike Webster, in 2002. 1his was corroborated by an inquest into the death of former England and West Brom striker, Jefi Astle. The inquest concluded that Jeff had died from brain trauma caused by old, heavy leather footballs. The conclusion here is that not every assignment Is meant for the head or brain, and heading football especially, at a young age is one of such. Scripturally also not everything you do is meant for your brain and eyes! One of such is your worship of God. Faith is also spiritual, NOT MEANT FOR YOUR HEAD! 2 Corinthians 5:7 makes it very clear, “For we walk by faith, not by sight”. FAITH in God concerning your life’s challenges is a thing of the heart that is beyond the realm of the brain and eyes. You cannot figure out God or serve Him with your brain or eyes! GROW BEYOND YOUR SIX SENSES! LIVE BY YOUR 7TH SENSE”-FAITH! If you want to see before you believe, you will end up in shame on planet earth. No matter how 2020 has been, REFUSE TO BE MOVED BY WHAT YOU SEE OR HOW YOU FEEL! Say things before you can seize (possess) them! Corrie Ten Boom opined:

God knew that the desire of the Jews to have a king would bring pain and regrets to them, but after some delay, He asked Samuel to grant them their answered prayers! God might grant your answers IF YOU INSIST, but you may end up in TEARS! For example, death is a less bitter punishment than death“s delay. He can use poverty, depression, low self-esteem, lack of marriage, chaotic marriage, divorce, delays, barrenness (fruit of the womb), premature death of loved ones, loss of helpers, career stagnation, business blockade, etc, as his agents! He uses these things to make you turn against the LORD JESUS CHRIST and grow cold in your love for HIM. He can use human agents to provoke, betray, lie, scandalise, or disappoint you despite all your holiness, prayers and fasting. His aim is to “Kill” your FIRE FOR GOD! He can even use so-called men of GOD whose teachings and lifestyles are ANTI-CHRIST. Welcome to today’s devotional. May the Holy Spirit expand His word in your heart in Jésus’ name. How easy is it to find a needle in haystačk? A haystack is a sack or bundle of hay. On farms after hay (dried GRASS) has been cut, it is formed into haystacks until it is fed to farm animals. Well, not an easy task you may say to find a missing needle inside a haystack. The American security had one very tough case in their hands for many years. The case was called the “The Golden State Killer.” The Golden State Killer has believed to have killed at least 12 people, raped at least 45 women and committed multiple home burglaries in the 1970s and 1980s in crime sprees throughout California. His réign of terror was described to span from Sacramento area in Northern Carolina down to Orange County in Southern California. According to the FBI, his reign of terror started With burglaries and rapes in the Sacramento suburbs in the summer of 1976. He would break into his victim’s homes by prying open a window or door while they slept. He would then shine a flashlight into their faces, tie them up, ransack the house and rape victims. Sometimes he would take jewelry, identification cards, cash, and coins from the victims’ homes. He was even bold enough to call the victims sometimes after the crime. As God would have it, the man believed to be behind the crime was arrested eventually after Some years. Discarded DNA confirmed that Joseph James De Angelo, a 72-year-old former police officer was the man. He was fired from the police force in 1979 for allegedly stealing a hammer and a can of dog repellant. What? A hammer and a can of dog repellant? Ah! Sin has a way of causing shame and disgrace. How can an American police officer steal a hammer and dog repellant? what was the monetary value of those things then and even now? A sinner may think he has gotten away with it but many times that is not the case.

The victims of his crime waited for many years to get justiçe finally the criminal was pinned down. It was like finding a needle in a haystack. Use today’s devotional to remind yourself that.
