Ondo State Police Command has detained a security guard of the NNPC Petrol Station in Shagari Village intersection in Akure, the Ondo State capital for allegedly shooting and killing a bread seller.

The command's Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Femi Joseph who disclosed that the arrest of this man, Jonah Sunday, said the suspect committed the crime past Wednesday afternoon and was immediately arrested by the guys of the command.

Joseph reported the command had begun investigation into the incident.

“The information reached us at about 9.30pm on Wednesday that the suspect killed somebody bedside the filling station. We were made to know that the suspect was shooting into the air. We don’t know the reason for that, may be he was suspecting something.

But unfortunately as he was shooting, the bullets hit one of the people selling bread beside the filling station,” he said.

Joseph said the victim was quickly rushed to the hospital where he gave up the ghost, noting that it was the family of the victim that reported the case at the police station.
