Nollywood actress, Idowu Philips (born 16 October 1942), popularly called Iya Rainbow, is a Nigerian veteran actress and wife of the late Nigerian playwright Hubert Ogunde.

Early life:

She was born on 16 October 1942 at Ijebu Ode, a town in Ogun State, southwestern Nigeria. She was employed as a licensed nurse in general hospitals in Nigeria for several years and occasionally acted in theatre. She ventured into full-time acting after the death of her husband. She's featured in several Nigerian movies, including Apaadi, Eru, and Aje ni iya mi amongst others. She's five children.



The movie, Asiri Nla first kicked Iya Rainbow into limelight. She has featured in over 500 movies in her movie career.
